Going to make you all my beotches Zona for the win. Guess who won the last time the FF was west of Texas? Zona!! Wanted Houston but 288 in the country in free throw shooting. thats going to get them one game. UConn and Creighton are my others in the FF. Zona beats Houston to win it all. you heard it here first.

I have the same final four. Arizona worries me the most though.. Idk if I trust Caleb Love as the go-to guy.

I may tweak mine another 14 times in the next four hours though, so.. lol

You cant make this shiat up.

We have the same overall record as MSU

We have the same Quad 1 record as MSU.

We have a better Quad 2 record than MSU.

We own a head to head win over MSU.

We are 70 spots behind MSU in the NET.

  3. I like Team Rankings. I posted this in another thread, but I do think they are more optimistic than reality in regards to our chances.

Bart Torvik's sim if you have us making a run to the BTT final, and give us a 10 spot jump in Torvik's overall rankings, puts us as the fifth team out of the tournament with around a 25% chance of making it, while Team Rankings gives us an 89% chance of making the tournament in that same situation.

It's a shame our metrics suck because we would already be in the conversation if we were top 70 in the NET.

Hey, I'm just using this post and Mullins as an example for understanding recruiting at large. It's not an indictment on you at all, just easier to ask questions based on the statements you've written. (I'll obviously be using CMW in this, but it could apply to any coach and staff in the country)...

If Mullins likes the school, but is hesitant about playing for Woodson, who is the "we" that still needs to do "proper work"? Is it the collective assistants or one in particular? Support staff? Woodson himself?? What is the actual "work" that needs to be done and presented to Mullins that satisfies and clears away any of his hesitation?

And are you saying Mullins is reluctant to come to IU because of CMW or because of the negativity surrounding CMW's tenure and program?

Walsh is the lead guy here. Howard and Hulls were involved a lot at the beginning of IU’s pursuit. Woodson here and there. I just mean Indiana as a whole.

Point is, when I say “proper work”, I really just mean IU staying in consistent communication throughout the entirety of his recruitment. Head Coach involvement specifically is definitely important. For example, Shrews has a good long time relationship with Braylon’s dad. He’s very involved in ND’s pursuit. It matters in every recruitment. Woody going to see Braylon in person during sectionals was good, and I think there was good conversation on his visit Sunday. I actually think Woodson has done a decent job in that regard here.

I get the vibe that there are mainly concerns regarding Woodson’s age, and obviously after the struggles the majority of this season and fan outburst, his job security long term.

The family as a whole loves IU and the brand of Indiana Basketball, and I believe he loves the idea of being a Hoosier. I think there’s just some hesitancy because of what I listed above, and it doesn’t mean IU can’t win the recruitment, because they can.. I just don’t feel as good as I did in the past.

  5. Our NET ranking (93) is mainly so low because of our performances compared to expectation in our buy games early in the year, and our sizable double digit losses. At least that’s the easiest way I think I can explain how I understand it.

Which if you go back and look, there is a pretty big pool of games in which those 2 things apply. While I think it’s helpful, it’s flawed, and I do think the NET is overvalued.

If Indiana were to make a run to the BTT final and be left out with 21 wins (12 Q1/Q2) and winners of 7 of 8 in the Big Ten to end the year soley because of their NET.. Whereas an MSU team with the same record as us before the BTT at 18-13 is in the field probably with just one win in the BTT, we will all be pretty bummed.

I recommend this video below from Galen of CrimsonCast for anyone who’s interested. He does a very good job of explaining things in regards to IU’s metrics and the overall explanation on how it all works:

Just piggybacking not calling out because all I have is a question without an answer. The CFP left FSU out of the football playoffs because of key injury! Does the Tournament committee take into account season long injuries with respect to teams suddenly playing up to expectations with the return of a key player?

I do believe the committee factors injuries into their selection.
