  1. Sorsby is gone, doesn’t matter who we hire. Not sure on other guys.
  2. I’m sorry, I just don’t see Dolson tying his wagon to someone as unproven as ARE. Love what he did for IU, but this is a make or break hire for Dolson, and ARE is a massive risk.
  3. Is it really that wild? I get thinking ARE could be a good coach, but he has zero experience to be able to say that. if he wasn’t a good football player at IU he wouldn’t even be a candidate. I don’t think it’s that wild to prefer Chryst.
  4. Tayven will probably be the guy if I had to guess
  5. Sounds like Fitzgerald is the guy unless the President axes it?
  6. I’m in the same boat as you, to me, Candle sounds a lot better than Pat. I can acknowledge that Fitz had some unprecedented success at NW and that’s probably the hardest school to win at in the Big Ten, but three of his last 4 years going 1-8 is terrifying. Maybe if the article/rumors of Dolson pumping serious cash into the program + NIL are true he can succeed here, but that scares me.
  7. Chris007 on BTB just said he thinks it will be Jason Candle by the end of the week, I think he’s supposed to be relatively connected?
  8. Sounds a lot like Paul Chryst is the favorite, he’s had winning programs in the Big Ten but a lot of concern how the Wisconsin style of play would translate to IU. At the very least I’d have faith he could recruit better o-line play than we are used to
  9. 100% not legal but I don’t think that’s stopping anyone lol
  10. I was told Cincinnati has been recruiting Sorsby pretty damn hard
  11. That pathetic sequence when we got the ball back with 3 minutes left and proceeded to run three consecutive times is a fireable offense by itself
  12. So do we have a feel for starting line-up? my guess is: X/Galloway/Mgbako/Reneau/Ware Cupps/Gunn/Banks/Walker/Sparks the main group off the bench. Main concern is outside of Sparks, that’s a lot of unproven guys off the bench, could see one of Reneau and Ware coming off the bench to get more spacing in the starting line-up.
  13. He might be the worst play caller I’ve genuinely ever witnessed in my life, which is really saying something.
  14. Also, main take away. If we can keep him, Tayven Jackson will be a damn good QB here. I’m not sold on Allen at all, but Walt Bell is the biggest question mark to me. Not a lot of faith in him. He’s digging us holes with conservative play calling. Tayven showed he can air it out today. Let him loose.
  15. Wisconsin at home should be in there, need to win 4/6 of those. Wisconsin ain’t great this year and we get them at home.
  16. I assume Tayven Jackson will be named the starter
  17. While that’s fair, handpicking a few plays doesn’t really excuse the complete lack of anything resembling an aggressive game plan for the offense. The defense played great and the offense overall looked more concerned with avoiding mistakes than keeping up with Ohio State. For as many plays you can point to that could have been more, there were a lot of examples of three straight hand offs and punt. I think you can tell by Allen and some player responses after the game (Camper for instance) that we were a bit too conservative for just about everyone involved. The personnel need to be better on offense, but so does Bell. I don’t think there’s any argument against that.
  18. I don’t think anyone is blasting the offense just for not scoring, we are blasting it because the strategy was pretty horrendous and not really conductive to ever scoring. The idea we were going to be able to put up points almost running a Navy lite offense was a pretty poor one and there was never much of an adjustment. We never allowed Tayven or Sorsby to ever even try to get comfortable, and we mostly asked them both to throw out of 2 WR sets. I get the OSU defense is good, which is why we really needed some creativity on offense… not whatever we just saw.
  19. Agreed, just need to figure out the QB position, as well as the overall scheme (I know, small asks!). Just an average offense might be good enough to get to 6 or more wins with the defense we saw today.
  20. Lot of talk with the D Line, but pleasantly surprised by the secondary. Not a ton of experience there, but Toomer and Sharpe were pretty phenomenal today.
