Is that a thing?? Never heard of this in my life. Obviously you must have witnessed it before once…but even if you did do you think perhaps that there could have been a medical reason why that might happen and perhaps that’s the bravest thing someone can do is to be out there playing because they love the game but have a legitimate medical condition?? I mean I don’t know because I’ve never heard of this but I suppose if I did I might not assume why they are and have a conversation with them.

So, what I think you're saying is be cautious not to jump to conclusions, especially if those conclusion are mean spirited and hateful. It's ok to learn prior to forming an opinion. I don't think I have agreed with some of your posts, but I agree with this, and respect how you delivered it.

Stupid is allowing him to continue to destroy this program. You have your opinion and I have mine. %*^$ Mike needs to go!

My guess is that he is not calling your opinion "stupid". If being the best fan is the inter-sectionalism of most extreme emotional reaction and harshest personal attacks, then I guess I am no fan.

Honest, and perhaps mis-informed question here. How many fans are there among those who don't participate on boards like this, that would not know who he is? That is not meant as a slight to the man, but it isn't as though FAU is on ESPN every week, so I can imagine his name recognition being lower than some other coaches.

Not mis-informed. This site is filled with hardcore posters(almost said "guys" MrsStoller). Their knowledge is at least 2 standard deviations above the mean. So, I don't think most fans have any clue who Dusty May is. I wouldn't have a clue without the "Rain Man" posters keeping me in the know.

Well I want to go to the decision makers, I doubt Woodson will fire himself

I guess you could have started emailing Woodson when you felt that things were not going in the right direction, and that you think he should do a better job educating/informing the public about specific decisions he is making in "getting over the hump", etc.  It seems like your first true communication to the program (I discount message board posts) is to try to get a man fired. It does seem though like this approach is supported by most posters, so I might be missing something.

Well I have sent him 3 emails so far this season and just sent #4

Last night once again shows that coach Woodson should not be coaching IU basketball. There is no reason Coach and his staff shouldn't have been out recruiting last night. There were two top in state recruits playing in sectional games yet no IU coach at either one. What we saw were coaches from Purdue, Notre Dame and Iowa in attendance watching these players. This is an embarrassment that our coaching staff is to lazy to actually go out and do their jobs. I am just wondering if they were to busy smoking cigars and drinking wine with their friends.

This has to be the end of coach Woodson's tenure as coach at Indiana. He was such a great player for IU and I will always love him as a player.  I wish he would retire and allow you to bring in an experience college coach who can bring back IU basketball to where it belongs.

Scott, have you sent any emails to Woodson?

?? UK had 7 players in the NBA All Star game this year. They last won a championship in 2012. IU hasn't been a consistently good program since the 90s. But Calipari is the poster boy for mediocrity and doing less with more than anyone in the country.

I actually didn't mean to post this. I got called away and didn't finish my point.  I am not comparing coaches, but programs. Ultimately, IU's resume over the last 20 years is, by far, the worst resume for a program that has our level of fanbase, money, facilities, state in which to recruit, etc. UK has had better players, and have under-achieved, but we should be able to compete with them for players. We haven't.  I wish Crean, Miller, and Woodson were run out of town because we weren't winning championships, not because we only have 11 tournament wins in 10 appearances since we played in the finals in 2002, with only three Sweet 16 games that we are 0-3 in. Contrast this with UK's resume: 41 tourney wins, 4 Finals Fours, 9 Elite Eights, 10 Sweet Sixteens, and 17 tourney appearances. If they are doing less with more than us, than we have to say that they have way more than us as a program, meaning that they are a better program than us.

  7. We have done less with more than any other program. This has put the fanbase in the position where they need to make a choice between frustration and bitterness, or deciding to invest much less time and energy into following the team. What I dislike is how many fans express their frustrations, anger, etc. about the state of the program.  CMW wants to win more than any

Sorry for this post, i was totally kidding...i dont want to hear a womens voice calling a mens game, i sure dont want to see one coaching a mens game. If i wanted to be annoyed by a women a couple of nights a week i would have stayed married to one of them.....:coffee:

I sense a lot of anger and hate

  9. For the most part I think angry, frustrated, fed up fans care deeply about the program. Some people who care deeply don't have the same type of emotional reaction. We all own what we say, but I don't think level of fandom necessarily correlates to level of emotional outrage. Nobody here knows if CMW can or can't turn this program around. If I was a betting man, I would say he can't. BTW, I would also bet that Pearl, Oates, May, Beard, etc. couldn't either.  Not saying none of the could, just that the smart bet is they wouldn't.

I personally don't like the title of this thread, I think it is reactive and overly emotional, But that is my opinion and I have no issue with all you "cry-babies" (this is a friendly poke) blowing off steam here instead of being a-holes to the people in your life.

I get that, but it would be nice to bring in some freshmen every year to bring along so we are looking at 2-3 guys from the portal every year instead of 5-7.

No doubt, and maybe I worded my thought poorly. I think balanced classes are a good thing, maybe flexibility is more of how I would word it. I think we need to be able to bring in freshman, if that is the best option, or recruit the rising sophomores who have proven themselves at a "lesser" program...say Purdue.  Sprinkle in a grad transfer and I think things work out to provide that balance.

Since it is a Daquan thread, I think he would be a worthy recruit as part of a 2-man freshman class.

  11. I think it says a great deal about our program when we look at TJD as a "once in a generation" talent. I mean zero disrespect, but he is would not be a once in a generation talent at UK, KU, UNC, Duke, MSU, etc.  He was never going to be able to take us deep in the tourney, a la Dwayne Wade, Danny Manning.

I don't care who IU hires as a coach, the chances of them taking IU to the top of college basketball is at best 50-50. I could argue that we need to afford CMW the opportunity to learn, adapt, adjust. I know that many fans will say that we see no signs that he is capable of doing this.  I can't argue that, but I cannot imagine that he is as dumb and lazy as some posters make him out to be.
