  1. I guess I was thinking football. I'm not sure who actually casts these votes. Whoever they are, somebody gave 2-10 Southern Wells a vote this week, and apparently people voted for a school that closed 4 years ago.
  2. In honor of a former board member: "TOP OF THE WORLD, MA!! VBG VBG VBG!!!"
  3. How he would fit at IU is more important to me than his prior results. I think Dusty May understands what he'd be getting into and what is expected here. Archie Miller wasn't ready for this and it was obvious from day one. Mike Davis was overwhelmed by that pressure as well. Mike Woodson looks burned out and coaches either like it's 1980 or he's still in the NBA, sometimes both. I don't think anyone should be insulted by the consideration of May. The pool of coaches we could realistically select from isn't getting bigger with time.
  4. I'm not convinced they do. They would say they do if someone asked, but I'm not sure they care enough to try and understand any of it. If they did, they would realize we take too many shots just inside the arc and hit a low percentage of them, and would then address it by telling these guys to stop taking those shots. But they don't. Woodson is stuck in 1980 where 3's didn't exist and efficiency wasn't a thing yet.
  5. Probably making up for the multiple games we had early in the season where our opponent's best player was out and we barely won.
  6. I've found that it's usually the result of coaches selecting from a drop-down menu and tapping the adjacent team instead of the one they meant to choose. But in this case I can't figure out who they meant to vote for.
  7. 1-10 South Adams received a vote in the 2A poll this week.
  8. It already has. We have one recruit signed for next season. One. At this point last year we only had Cupps and Newton. Maybe he'll get lucky and another 5 star will de-commit from somewhere. That's about the only way he can get them here. High schoolers aren't buying whatever he's selling. Anymore I just marvel at how we can go through so many coaches and get the same awful results.
  9. The difference is this was an atypical performance from the women's team. We've come to expect a lot of these problems from the men's program. The women are a lot better than what we saw last night.
  10. Trouble is, it's hard for this program to even make the tourney anymore. I'm old enough to remember our fans complaining about how awful we were in the 2000's because we missed the tournament twice. That was the last time we had 3 consecutive tournament appearances. Incredible, really.
  11. Do we need a wellness check for one of our resident Boiler fans? An hour after the game ended and he's conspicuously absent. He had plenty to say after their recent wins.
  12. I'm not saying I want Woodson gone, but it's just hard for me to believe there isn't somebody out there who could bring better basketball to this program. We didn't have to be amazing this year but there's really no good excuse for this trash.
  13. And yet high school recruits from Indiana still want to go there...it's baffling to me.
  14. Sounds like the year we had Romeo Langford.
  15. Don't forget Fairleigh Dickinson and St. Peter's. Who ever heard of those teams and where are they located?
  16. Not sure I'd call a December non-conference game "do or die" for our postseason hopes, but we could certainly do ourselves a huge favor by winning.
  17. I know people don't like to keep blaming past mistakes, but Archie Miller should have been out the door after that NIT loss to Wichita State. That season with Romeo was just such an epic disaster. Probably my least favorite IU team of all time. Miller was in over his head after that (heck, even before then) and everybody knew it. Keeping him for 2 more seasons just suffocated this program and any excitement surrounding it. The apologists kept saying "you can't fire him after 2 years because who would want to come here?!!" Gee I don't know, maybe the IU alum who wanted the job when it was open last time and the guy we ended up hiring two years too late. I'm always kind of intrigued and wondering what could have been when I imagine Woodson starting in 2019, then having a team that actually got better and trended upward during the Covid year. Maybe he doesn't get stuck playing Archie's style for so long if we hadn't given Archie so much time to ruin everything.
  18. Why are so many people so enamored with Fitzgerald? 1-8 in conference 3 of his last 4 seasons, playing in the JV division that was even weaker than usual.
  19. Does it seem like the "private schools need their own tournament" complaints have reached a fever pitch this year, or is it just me?
  20. Maybe. Right now OSU and Iowa are the only other ranked teams and we only get OSU once. Maryland started off ranked but they've gotten trounced 3 times. I guess I feel like we could have scheduled a bit harder given what we had coming back.
  21. This and Tennessee will end up being very good wins for us. I would have liked to see us have another ranked team or two in the non-con. Our December schedule looks very light.
  22. His last post before this one was when Fland picked UK over IU. Strange coincidence there.
  23. Watching us struggle to defend a team that scored 55 and 44 points in its first two games while largely looking clueless on how to run its own offense, I just found myself thinking once again that this program is hopelessly broken and I'm not sure it's ever getting fixed. It just blows my mind how we can accumulate the talent we do and look so bad at what really should be a pretty simple game. Woodson is on record saying he didn't come here to rebuild. So why are we this bad? He's had over 2 years to get this thing rolling and right now we look just like we did 2 years ago.
