  1. I think pro athletes are more resilient and have shorter memories than people give them credit for. I recall the Pacers losing two playoff games on Lebron buzzer beaters but bouncing back to win the next game, one of which was in Miami.
  2. Two questions I have from that game: 1) How did Drew VerHagen end up with the Cardinals? 2) How is he still in the big leagues? He was a human gas can with the Tigers.
  3. I think some of it may be that some of these guys grew up playing baseball year-round and threw too much at an early age.
  4. Store departments/employees not communicating on what should be very basic stuff. I went to Walmart the other day for groceries and decided to get a bag of garden soil. Before I went in, I looked up the letter/number and the price from the bags that were sitting out in the parking lot so I could tell the cashier what I wanted. I tell the cashier while she's checking out my groceries, and she starts looking through all these binders trying to find it. She had to go find another employee, who gave her the correct binder with the prices for lawn and garden items. She starts leafing through it and then informs me that she's sorry, but that item is sold out. I told her no it's not, I was just out there and there's a whole pallet with bags of soil. She then informs me she can't sell it to me because there's a sticker covering the barcode and she doesn't know what to do. I asked if there was someone else she could call. We get a customer service worker who radioes the lawn and garden department to confirm the soil is there, and he removes the sticker so she can scan the barcode. He sighs and says "I wish they would tell us when they get stuff."
  5. Dairy Queen is horrible about this. I've rearranged the order in which I ask for food and no matter how I do that or how many times I say it, they still get it wrong. On the rare occasion they get it right, there's usually some other little mistake, like two top buns for the burger or no spoon for the ice cream. I used the KFC drive-thru recently and the lady ahead of me must have talked for a solid five minutes for an order that totaled about 8 dollars and change.
  6. The NBA has to be breathing a huge sigh of relief after last night. Both conference finals being sweeps and not having any games for a whole week would have been a PR nightmare. Now the possibility of an historic comeback gives them something to work with. Expect Boston to get a very friendly whistle in Game 5 and possibly Game 6 as well.
  7. Almost had a hitter get his average to .300 recently. Almost.
  8. So they go a whole week without a win and stay #21, then after "righting the ship" they drop two spots?
  9. I think the Tigers finally found a team that has a worse offense. Moved up to #29 in runs scored after taking two of three from Cleveland.
  10. Their accuracy rates mean nothing. The people who do these often flip their picks at the last minute.
  11. Highly doubt that. As tight-lipped as the Mgbakos have been this whole time, I'd say this Kansas guy knows as much as I do...which is nothing.
  12. Ledlum actually visited St. John's last. A better comparison would be Ware visiting us, cancelling an Alabama visit and then committing to us.
  13. Neat. Can't wait for all the hand-wringing about how it must be Kansas because his first and last names are capitalized.
  14. I had to look him up. The Tigers have been so bad the last few years I've kind of fallen out of the loop in regards to who's on the staff.
  15. And this probably happens a lot more than we think. Caleb Swanigan wanted to play at California, his guardian objected, so he committed to MSU instead. But the guardian wanted him at Purdue, so that's where he went.
  16. This team isn't good and neither is the division, but I'll take it.
  17. Must be the same people that kept Purdue in the same spot both times after we beat them. 🤣
  18. These are updated weekly, right? How do you go a whole week without winning and maintain the same ranking?
  19. I doubt it means anything one way or the other. We're looking at a more difficult non-conference schedule than we had last season and we have a lot more unknowns now than we had a year ago.
  20. You forgot the part about how some incoming freshman was going to get his reps and he "saw the writing on the wall." lol
  21. Tigers sweep (don't get to say that much these days) the Mets and defeat former Tigers Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer.
  22. We're coming up on a decade now of playing in this division. Has it made our program stronger? The latest NFL draft and our upcoming recruiting class rankings beg to differ.
  23. Wouldn't be the worst thing. I'd rather not have to face him again. In both matchups last year we couldn't handle him.
  24. They will list him at 7'0" once he's there. They always add an inch to their frontcourt players after they commit. Edey was listed at 7'3" when he committed and Matt Haarms was 7'2" and both of them magically grew another inch once they became Boilers.
  25. The only times I can recall us winning a recruiting battle with Kansas were Romeo Langford and James Blackmon Jr. Being the home state school obviously helped us with both of them. Getting an out of state 5 star prospect that Kansas and Duke both wanted would be monumental, if not unprecedented.
