  1. Nothing surprises me anymore with those people. I'll never forget Purdue fans saying our 97-60 demolition on their court would be worth it when we lost in the NCAA tournament. Saw another comment this morning that made me laugh. Some Facebook page had posted the score from our game last night. A person with a Purdue avatar commented "big deal, they were at home, most decent teams can win at home" apparently forgetting Purdue lost at home to this same team.
  2. Sorry, but if people think "IU doesn't put players in the NBA," they aren't paying attention. In any case, we need to be targeting good college players who might become good enough to reach the NBA some day, not players who are looking for the fastest way there.
  3. Apparently wearing black uniforms at home is a thing now. Bonus points if black isn't one of your school's colors.
  4. I don't think I've ever seen a post player who was a bigger X factor late in games. In a 1 or 2 possession game, Purdue doesn't have to shoot 3's because they can practically get a guaranteed 2 from him. Opponents will usually let him have it because they don't want to foul. He's difficult to inbound the ball against, and you can't intentionally foul when up 3 because of the likelihood that he would get the offensive board. I know they have a 7'2" guy on the bench who isn't playing this year, but there are only so many people in the world who are well over 7 feet tall and physically capable of playing sports. Painter's going to come up empty trying to find one eventually, right?
  5. I wondered the same thing. I'm sure it was in reference to her comment about "traveling 2,000 miles to say f*ck Purdue."
  6. Great last 24 hours for IU basketball.
  7. Trying to...I just hate where our program is compared to theirs. I miss the days when they dreaded playing us in Assembly Hall. I have to miss the whole game because of my nephew's birthday party. Last year I had to miss an IU-Purdue women's game because of his party. What kind of people get born during basketball season, anyway?
  8. Does the NCAA use this rule? Otherwise, none of this matters.
  9. There was actually less time left in our game with them when they shot their first one. I found myself hoping they would get a free throw at some point because that loss would be even more embarrassing with them having zero foul shots.
  10. Well, Edey is just so big, it's not really fair to expect him to move his body out of the paint within 3 seconds, is it? 🤣
  11. The Columbia space shuttle disaster was 20 years ago today. IU was supposed to play Louisville on CBS that afternoon, but the game never aired because the network devoted the entire afternoon to coverage of the explosion.
  12. Something that's kind of both annoying and amusing about this fanbase is how we treat the last game and the next one. If we're coming off a good performance, it means nothing, that was last game. If we're coming off a poor showing, the next game could be rough if we play like that again.
  13. Yao is 42, Edey is probably 20 or 21, so yes. lol
  14. The funny thing is, that four game win streak in 2019 featured three of the same four teams we've just beaten: we beat Wisconsin at home in double OT, upset a highly ranked MSU at home, and won easily at Illinois. Rutgers at home was the last one (also the last time we beat them). I hope our players realize how close last night was to being a season-changer. It would have been a huge black mark on our postseason resumé, and at 13-7 with a sub-.500 conference record, the NIT talk would start up again.
  15. Peter is Jim Irsay. Lois represents Colts fans. Chris and Meg are fans of other teams.
  16. Can they review that goaltend? I mean, they reviewed a guy getting bumped and falling down.
  17. Did Sissoko grab that off the rim? Sure looked like it.
  18. The "TJD missed layup leading to a transition 3 the other way" sequence is one I'm ready to not have to see anymore.
  19. Illinois fans have tried so hard to make it a huge rivalry for years. Back in the 2000's, when Scout.com had forums for every Big Ten team, there were always a lot of UI fans on our board trolling us. It was bizarre. Their board was like a rabbit hole to Alice in Wonderland on steroids. Tons of weird posters, with weird screen names, creepy avatars, and batsh*t crazy posts. They had a mod who ran the board like a dictator and had burner accounts to support his decadent ways. And of course, TeamworkOrange, remembered by many as "Teamwork Nutjob." Around the time Weber got fired was when we moved to our newer boards. Thankfully, they didn't come with us.
  20. They've been playing with fire for weeks and finally got burned last night. BYU, San Francisco and Santa Clara all had them on the ropes but couldn't finish. They have all the hallmarks of a team that's going to be seeded 2 or 3 seeds too high and lose in the first weekend of the tournament.
  21. Same could be said for our mindset as fans. When the women got down 19-10 last night, I found myself thinking they would go on a run and get back in it. If the men's team was down 19-10 on the road...lol, forget it.
  22. Let's see if we stay on script: this is the part where it looks like there's no chance the Bucs could come back, only to see a fumble on a simple running play.
  23. I'm at the point where I want the Cowboys to keep scoring just to see if this kicker can possibly gack any more kicks.
