Most of the times we've been pressed this year came when we were ahead. We trailed from the 9 minute mark of the first half today until there were 30 seconds left in the game.

Maybe you'll get lucky and draw Bluffton or South Adams in sectionals.

I'm glad we wore our home uniforms when we beat Purdue. The front page picture on ESPN is a bunch of NU fans wearing black, which is one of Purdue's colors. It just looks weird.

I said the program was hopelessly broken and I didn't think it could ever be fixed.

Big Ten basketball has regressed back to where it was in the 2000's. Halftime scores in the 20's, players beating the crap out of each other with no whistles...hard to watch.

Sure would be nice to have something resembling a 3 point threat right now. 4 minutes left in the game and we're 2/6. Six freaking attempts all game. Hilarious.

Surprise, surprise, another game where our opponent is in the double bonus by the 8 minute mark.

Leaving way too many points on the floor. Scoring becomes a lot harder when you miss layups and free throws.

Last night I was watching a high school game where the road team missed a ton of layups and the home team seemed to make every layup they took, even with awkward angles. It's always amazed me how some high schoolers can practically make layups blindfolded in their own gym, but put them somewhere else, even with nobody guarding them, and they suddenly get the yips. Apparently some of our guys think they're still in high school.

Haven't had that since Yogi.

+1 There's always been this ingrained belief among a portion of the fanbase that when our team loses, it can't ever be the other team simply being better or making plays, but because our players just didn't try hard enough. Dredging this up will only reinforce this crap, and will have fans thinking that an angry letter full of personal attacks is the key to a winning streak.

1 foul the entire first half...ironically, it was on Edey. Hopefully we do this to Iowa in a few weeks. Still pissed about that game at their place.

Nothing surprises me anymore with those people. I'll never forget Purdue fans saying our 97-60 demolition on their court would be worth it when we lost in the NCAA tournament. Saw another comment this morning that made me laugh. Some Facebook page had posted the score from our game last night. A person with a Purdue avatar commented "big deal, they were at home, most decent teams can win at home" apparently forgetting Purdue lost at home to this same team.

Sorry, but if people think "IU doesn't put players in the NBA," they aren't paying attention. In any case, we need to be targeting good college players who might become good enough to reach the NBA some day, not players who are looking for the fastest way there.

Apparently wearing black uniforms at home is a thing now. Bonus points if black isn't one of your school's colors.

I don't think I've ever seen a post player who was a bigger X factor late in games. In a 1 or 2 possession game, Purdue doesn't have to shoot 3's because they can practically get a guaranteed 2 from him. Opponents will usually let him have it because they don't want to foul. He's difficult to inbound the ball against, and you can't intentionally foul when up 3 because of the likelihood that he would get the offensive board. I know they have a 7'2" guy on the bench who isn't playing this year, but there are only so many people in the world who are well over 7 feet tall and physically capable of playing sports. Painter's going to come up empty trying to find one eventually, right?

I wondered the same thing. I'm sure it was in reference to her comment about "traveling 2,000 miles to say f*ck Purdue."

Great last 24 hours for IU basketball.

Trying to...I just hate where our program is compared to theirs. I miss the days when they dreaded playing us in Assembly Hall. I have to miss the whole game because of my nephew's birthday party. Last year I had to miss an IU-Purdue women's game because of his party. What kind of people get born during basketball season, anyway?

Does the NCAA use this rule? Otherwise, none of this matters.
