Keeping him around just because he is a former player is ridiculous. You hear all the time that it is about the program, not one person (heard it all the time when RMK was estranged). Give him a job elsewhere in the department, just get him off the bench.

nothing will change, no one will be held accountable, the same guys will play, Woodson will sub in 4 new guys about 5 minutes into the game regardless of score/situation, free throws will be missed, etc.  This will continue to happen until this awful coach and staff are shown the door.

Woodson recruits the same skill set in different sizes. He doesn’t recruit by need or by role.  It’s disgusting

Nothing has changed from Crean to Archie to Woodson.  Same crappy offense, no defense, dumb turnovers, can’t shoot free throws and absolutely awful substitutions.  The in-game coaching of this staff is atrocious

If IU gets Tyler Cherry to flip from Duke, I wouldn’t count him out.  The kid is a player.

And 5 of the 7 above should all play 30+.  These guys are 18-22 years old, only play once or twice a week and get a 5 minute break every 4 minutes during the game.  There is no need for this constant subbing

Here is my Top 7 that should get all the minutes vs Kansas.

XJ, Cupps, Galloway, Ware, Reneau, Walker, Mgbako (very, very hesitant on that one - Plays no D).  If XJ can’t go then Gunn or Leal depending on who has a better week of practice.  I would not waver from this unless injury or foul trouble dictated I had to.  I would have this 7 man approach every game and who is in it would be driven by practice performance.  Guys will buy in or sit/leave.

Nope…He does this every single game.  If this was just a today thing, your response would make sense but this is an every game thing.  

I said it in the game thread and I’ll say it here.  Until Woodson decides to shrink the rotation to 7 or 8 and make guys earn their playing time, nothing will change. He also needs to be more strategic with when he subs.  Swapping 4 or 5 out at a time, especially when you have momentum is simply ignorant.  Crean and Archie level stuff.

Well, with that type of thinking, you better be okay with being bottom half of the B10, in the tournament every couple of years and maybe win a tournament game once a decade.  There is no reason IU should have to settle for the last 3 coaches we have had.  No way

I am not saying Pearl is the guy but IU needs someone like him.  Someone with a proven track record of winning and NCAA tournament success.  Woodson ain’t the answer.

Woodson’s close ties to RMK and Dolson being a fanboy rather than a true AD, will get Woodson more time than he deserves.  This team is absolutely no different than those under Crean or Archie.  They are soft, can’t shoot, fold under pressure, blah, blah, blah.  This is IU Basketball until someone decides to get serious and go get a guy like Pearl or someone with proven success.
