I'm wondering how important the word 'finally' is in the post?  Does it mean we didn't offer out of high school?  The first name that popped into my head was Jalen Washington from North Carolina.  Now, he hasn't had a 'stud' year.  But, there is no denying that he was a highly thought of recruit.  #1 nationally in his class before the injuries hit.

Right, I thought it was interesting to see the “finally” part in there too. Got me trying to think of freshmen who we didn’t offer. Then I also got to wondering, if this tidbit of info is accurate, does the IU coaching staff know this player is interested and plans on hitting the portal? I guess I’d assume so but then again wouldn’t that seem odd for them to know that would happen?

Hasn't that dude been known to stir up some s*** every once in awhile?

    Could be wrong.

Yeah could be, I wasn’t too sure myself. I remember him posting stuff in the past about insider info type stuff but can’t recall the validity. Wasn’t sure if anyone else here was more familiar with him or if the insiders we have on here could happen to know what he’s talking about.

Some of you think the season is a bust....Kids had a let down after a huge win just a couple of days before. They have 22 wins!! yes 2 loses to each of  NW and Iowa sucks but sometimes teams just have your number at a certain point. Are they better than we are???? Their records say we are even. The Murray kid goes off every time we play them. Last week I watched him shoot 3 airballs in a row from 3. Last night he looked like Reggie Miller, once again against us. He is a bad match up for us. Race today has no shot of guarding him.

Is this a great team? Its a very good team. Can it make a deep run in the NCAAT? yes it can, this team plays different when it means something to them it seems. NONE of us thought we would win at Purdue. WE you trade that for the Iowa win at home. Great IU teams have done this in the past, not sure why we are beating this team up so bad today. Go watch the 87' team on youtube.

This is a good post and I completely agree. Reason I selected the bold part is because I guess I’m just trying to search for the answer as to why they can’t act as though EVERY game means something. Maybe I’m just the old school “give it your all and appreciate what you’re given” type of guy and need to realize it’s just not how it happens anymore nowadays ha.

I know some have said it could be because we haven’t completely weeded out the “Archie leftovers”, so I don’t know if it’s that and a matter of needing more guys who truly know what it takes to win and refuse to lose, or what. I’m sure we’ll get there eventually. I love IU bball and will continue to support these guys til the end.

So when any teams loses it is because they are making NIL money

No not at all, I hoped to not come across that way. Just saying that when we see effort issues and lack of pride it just makes me wonder if the fact that are getting paid anyways has anything to do with it.

Sounds like CMW and the players have no clue what happened last night. That leaves it open to speculation and raises concerns of how will they fix it.

If you have a drop off after the biggest win of the season, that's something people don't like but they've seen it before. Not just with IU basketball but with other teams and in other sports. It's not out of the realm of possibility. But last night was a complete no show and that's different. Where's the pride? Where's the leaders on the floor? Where's the coaching staff with any type of workable adjustments? Fact is, IU had no answers on either end of the floor and from the start it didn't look like they were interested in finding any.

The common thread when IU has had really bad games this season is turnovers, not competing on the glass, poor shot selection, and looking lost on defense. All of that was apparent last night. Leaves you wondering what happened?

After the win at purdue all the talk turned to IU being on the rise; possible great seeding in the tourney; and specifically who's leaving to go pro. I'd suggest IU lost its focus and thought they could walk on the court last night and win. Not mentally into the game. Not focused on the goal. Not mentally tough.

This loss may hurt IU in many ways over the rest of this season but that cannot be a consideration right now. If they don't come out with a W over Michigan, it's may get very ugly because every team in the conference tourney is playing to win. There are no walk overs. You don't want to be riding a losing streak when selection Sunday gets here.

Who needs pride when they’ve got NIL money clogging up their pockets, right? Sure makes you wonder if that has a small hand in how they play. Win or lose they’re still getting paid, and paid way more than a lot of career people out there working their butts off. I kinda think it’d be a good idea if within certain NIL contracts that are given, there are side notes that state that they get percentages taken away with a loss, or something like that. I could almost guarantee you’d see more fight in games if playing like crap and no effort meant less money in their piggy banks.
I don’t have a problem with players getting paid, but it kinda makes you wonder if it makes them ok with being lazy occasionally…especially being the age they are.

  6. Woodson after Purdue game: “You can’t go home and not validate what you did tonight. You understand that?”

Unfortunately, it appeared as though they didn’t understand a dang thing…and I just don’t get it. So maddening to see their inconsistencies. The emotional roller coaster of being so excited for game day, to being so disgusted afterwards just isn’t very fun haha

  7. Our inconsistencies are so frustrating. To play like we did at Purdue and then turn around and act like this the next game AT HOME is just so damn disappointing. Has happened quite a bit with this bunch of players not just this season. We don’t know how to play with fire and the refuse to lose mentality every single game. They just seem to pick and choose. I don’t get it.

  8. I just can’t put my finger on the cause for our inconsistencies…playing awesome in games and giving maximum effort, but then others acting like we don’t care and aren’t trying at all. I surely hope we can get whatever it is fixed. It’s nerve wracking going into a game wondering which team is gonna show up. I understand teams have off nights shooting, but for some reason with this team it it just seems more than that. We’ve been on such a good streak that when halves like this happen it’s like what the heck?

Just watched it again...Sissoko stuck his knee out there and got him... They didn't show a replay, but on first glance it looked intentional and something Spartan players do regularly...

Yep agreed. I definitely thought he stuck his knee out on purpose and got him.

Did JHS tweak his back again. I thought he played like his back wasn’t full strength . I hope his ok to go!

He got hit in the hip by a screen that took him to the ground. He stayed on the floor for a bit in pain. Went to the bench for a while after that. Towards the end of the game he ended up coming back in so hopefully it won’t be too big of an issue.
