  1. Question is, with Woody being that “IU guy”, how difficult is it going to be to actually get rid of him if things really do spiral out of control? Like I saw someone post above, I wonder if he’d just resign himself if he didn’t think he was getting it done. Will Dolson actually do something? Will someone above Dolson do something about it if he doesn’t? I hope to turn this around and sucks thinking like this after just a few losses, but it’s the WAY WE LOSE that makes it seem like it’s something that can’t get fixed with what we have. I feel like I’m overreacting yet not at all at the same time.
  2. We always seem to bring out the best in our opponents. Tired of seeing the other teams have the “want” in them more than we do. Our effort usually seems so pathetic. Coach Woodson probably thought he’d be invincible coming from the NBA all those years, but he’s being shown often that he still has plenty of learning to do.
  3. They must have Occidentally put them on their schedule.
  4. Thanks for the comment, Geo. We’ll be sure to take it to heart. Great that X is taking notice to this. More fuel for the fire.
  5. This is cool. I looked at the Xavier boards to see what they thought about the game and the biggest takeaway was the fact they were mad about how many IU fans were in the building haha. Sorry not sorry.
  6. Moye really is an excellent choice for that position. High level recruits are going to love him and he already has tons of experience coaching and developing high level athletes. Plus since he bleeds cream and crimson, that passion we all know and love is really gonna shine through and make him even more valuable to us. I’m pumped.
  7. I don’t have any knowledge on this, so I could be way off, but just to throw names out there and guess…Watford? Moye? Just trying to think of guys who could be in the know as far as AAU programs and workout with high level players, which would make sense to have for recruiting. Obviously other Hoosiers out there that could be good I’m not thinking of..
  8. Love that we have Kenya on staff. Woodson knew what he was doing when he bumped him up to associate head coach. Hopefully he stays for a long time.
  9. Well that just wasn’t very fun. You could definitely tell our guys were gassed. Literally no one on this team is used to playing ball this far into the season. Plus obviously our traveling schedule this past couple days was brutal. Proud of the guys for working at it to take that first true step of getting this program turned around. Missed a lot of shots tonight and that bit us in the butt more often than not this year. Get some more playmakers/shooters on the team and this staff will have us in great shape.
  10. Race let Harper get those looks quite a bit tonight. Didn’t close out on him well at all. Uncharacteristic shooting night for Parker tonight and it hurt us. We just don’t have guys on the team that have experienced what it takes to get to that winning level yet. I think this year Woodson tried plugging in holes where he could, and tried going with the best scheme that fit with the best player we have, which is get it to Trayce and hope that everyone else plays decent enough if he is having an off night. Since Race and Trayce are two of our best players, he’s gotta play big guy ball. I think once the entire roster is full of recruits he wants that can play his style, we will see a more uptempo guard/wing oriented team. (I know I know, we said “just wait until Archie gets his own guys…”) but we all know Archie teams struggled to shoot the ball every year, and in Woodson’s style offense, he expects everyone on the floor to be able to shoot the ball. I think for the most part Coach Woodson and staff put us in position to make places, we just don’t have the stone cold killers and playmakers to make it successful. It was so us tonight to see one of our guys miss a wide open shot and then the other team run straight down and hit a dagger with hands in his face. Just feel bad for the guys on the team if we can’t sneak into the tournament. Brutal to go through your whole career without getting to experience it. I think Woodson has done all he can to get them there, but he can only do so much with the players he has out on the floor. They’ve gotta be the ones to make shots, not turn the ball over, play smart, etc.
  11. YEEEES!!! Woodson got them on his first try. That is something special in itself. So awesome to see. NO ONE WINS ON OUR COURT.
  12. PLEASE LORD GIVE TRAYCE THE MAGIC TOUCH ON THESE FREE THROWS!
  13. LOVE that we were able to build this 10 pt lead with Trayce on the bench.
  14. I realllly hope Coach considers not starting the second half with the lineup that got us down early to start.
  15. I saw on Twitter from someone that the students will be given these masks to wear at the game lol….suits and goatees it is.
  16. Yep that was ridiculous. We didn’t play with as much fire as Purdue did at all that game. I’m hoping that since we now have Woodson and Fife on staff, it’ll help get it through to these guys that losing to Purdue is a no no…especially at home.
  17. You know what would be messed up? Is if the Murray brothers switched jersey numbers for this game to throw off our coverage game plan…I could see crazy SOB McCaffery trying to pull that off, lol. If you think about it, it happened to be the other one who had the huge game…but was it really him????? Haha
  18. Dang I just don’t enjoy losing to McCaffery at all. Especially when they pull that ridiculous nonsense at halftime. Was hoping he’d end up getting tossed in the 2nd half, but unfortunately we didn’t give him any reason to need to.
  19. K, Coach, it’s a thing…wear the dang suit from now on.
  20. Was hoping we were the team to come out of halftime with the extra edge and pissed off over the McCaffery confrontation nonsense. Frustrating to not be the team that looks like they want it more. We looked good in the first half and I thought for sure we’d have the added fuel to the fire after halftime to stick it to them.
  21. Commentator after game: “Purdue now 0-1 all time as the #1 ranked team in the country”. Lol Purdue is still a really good team and will be tough to beat, but seeing them lose just never ever gets old. Goes to show you this league throws a heck of a lot of punches regardless of who you play.
  22. I think the frustrating part is having to always say “that first half gave us a glimpse of how good we can be”, or “we can learn from this”…. I want those glimpses to be the new norm and not have to keep saying something bad can be a learning experience. It’s crazy to see how really really good we can be but then throw it all away in a matter of 20 minutes. Hopefully the staff can figure out how to get these guys to lock in for a full game. If you think about it, pretty much this whole team isn’t used to winning at the college level…X from Pitt, Kopp at Northwestern, and then obviously everyone else who stayed from the Archie years never made the tournament. Everyone still needs to learn how to win at a high level. Tough part about it is how you teach that and get them to stray away from what they’ve been used to for years. There are plenty of players I enjoy on this roster and think are good players but I’ll bet you that most of the things that frustrate us will be gone once our entire roster is made up of kids Woodson and Co recruit themselves right out of high school. It was good to see the turnover numbers go way down, but I wish the players themselves had the “refuse to lose” warrior mentality. We’ve gotta stop getting soft. The season is still young and we have plenty of time to figure it out. I’d just like to think a bad half at Syracuse would have already taught us to not play the type of half we did tonight.
  23. It baffles my mind how we can’t seem to hardly ever keep our foot on the gas the whole game. It’s like when we get a big lead, like we had at halftime, we think it’s in the bag. One half we look the best we have all year, and the next it looks like we forgot how to play basketball. I don’t get it. That killer instinct is still lacking. Plus, yes, playing at Wisconsin didn’t help. Crazy crazy crazy how we can look that good in the first half and still end up losing the game. I really don’t get why Wisconsin does this to us.
