Who is your money on there Rico? That’s more your back yard and I saw central nobles record but felt churubusco had the more impressive schedule ....you make a fair point but do either of those two teams have any height ? Shanandoah played Blackhawk as well as anyone 2A team could expect and took them to overtime but they had two hard working scrappy 6’4 or 6’5 kids who were at least able to be in calebs way

Ehhh ...I wouldn’t love to have them first but gotta beat them at some point to get out of sectional might as well start that way 🤷🏼‍♂️....having lost four varsity contributors it all depends if Blackford is shooting well as a group they have no height or depth and luckily Madison grant is not a big team

My buddies from high school lived with his older brother jay ....he was pretty tough himself ....they had a really good stretch of athletes

Every game I attended ( wasn’t 50 but i did see him at least twice sophomore junior and senior years and more than five at least one year ) he handled the ball as much as anyone on the floor ...I also remember him doing the ball handling demonstrations for clinics .....I think he was a natural point guard who had such a good shot that with another talented ball handler on the squad they wanted to make sure to GET him more shots off ball ....how’d you fare against him ?

Respectfully disageee I think brown will only play pg wherever he ends up ...but let’s debate that in the brown thread ...much like brown this kid looks like he has what you can’t teach which is court vision ....thinking back to watching Jordy in high school he had that two ...I think all three are natural pgs and I’m excited if you think this kid will break 6’2

Not just the pandemic but unless kids are super connected you don’t see a ton of 5’10 kids get immediate attention they usually have to wait I’ll deep junior year to wait till teams first options have signed elsewhere ......lot of factors involved but unless he destroys recognizable aau competition the bigger fish may wait till next season ...and I hope he gets the attention he deserves because he looks like the prototypical “ chip on the shoulder “ kid who will outwork people

Just started watching a few of his games today ...absolutely love him

Think he’ll go way of the draft ? Someone had posted that players who commit to a school typically hurt their draft stock by doing so ...I’ve not followed enough to know if that’s accurate

I’ve gotten to see him play basketball 3 times and baseball zero .....I thought he was intriguing ....do you think he’s given up on the prospect of playing two sports ?

And furthermore ...he made it very clear he wanted to be a two sport athlete so I wonder if he didn’t get some consideration

Looked smooth as ever in third and final game ....missed some key free throws at the end Im sure he would want back but they pulled the win ....he had at least 18 at halftime finished somewhere around 30...has a great step back jump shot

First round means you’re really really separated ....not all but MOST high school first rounders are big time arms for pitching prospects so a position player really has to stand out ....even going in the top 5 is seriously impressive

Yep that’s what I read as well ....seemed like a hard worker and stand up kid by all accounts I’m glad I came to this tournament I’ve found several new kids to root for

Got to Blackford Game a few hours early and got to see Montgomery again ...like him even more now ...he was dominant ....spent most of the 4th not scoring but he handled the ball , rebounded , distributed and played solid

Good call and guys that watch that much baseball can tell when someone stands out ...my freshman year at Blackford we played rob Bowen at Fort Wayne homestead ....we had a solid team and he wasn’t just better than everyone in the field ...everything he did was SIGNIFICANTLY different especially the way the ball came off his bat ...he ended up drafted in the second round

That’s one of the first ones I found after I started researching him Tuesday. He looked the part at north Daviess you could tell he was an Elite athlete just by watching him warm up....my favorite part was his coach was pretty whiny ( like more than usual for a coach) and he didn’t take on his coaches demeanor he kinda took the highs and lows of the game in a very even keeled way. You could tell he has leadership qualities.
