And the Carmel coach put them through some incredible workouts and is the real deal ….deltas coach is assisting and he addressed the team and said “ in transition the ball needs to touch the paint “ so I think he basically told Luke don’t play Your way if you want on the floor. 6 assists and zero turnovers in fifteen minutes though 🤷🏼♂️ -

All stars take it to The junior all stars …brown leads team in assists despite middle of the pack minutes. Zero turnovers and 3-4 from the floor. -
Oh bob ….you always warm my heart through this cold stretch of no basketball . Hope you guys are having a good start to summer. May many fish and few bogies grace your off-season

Braden Smith Commits to Purdue
IU/Butler/Notre Dame replied to The Daily Hoosier's topic in Basketball Recruiting
But isnt that the type of player WE are getting ? We ve seen how that has gone .....I’m a bigger fan of their approach having exactly what you described 10’deep that stay four years and mixing in an Ivey that stays two here and there same with butler ( until the laval era ) and notre Dame and its lead to more long term consistency -

I think you’ve hit the nail completely on the head .....as everyone knows I’m a brown guy ( maybe THEE brown guy is more notoriously accurate ). I’m a huge Smith fan. Got to watch him play twice and he has an extremely similar style and skill set to brown so I was hoping him being in a larger grouping of schools would eventually merit an iu offer of brown didnt but , alas, I think you have the philosophy pegged. I think having watched both I still take brown because he has a slight edge ( and I mean slight ) in creation and passing although not much difference. Luke is a slightly better ball handler but boy can they both shoot. Smith built his frame over two years more impressively in my opinion and I’m not knocking Luke but smith seems more inclined to WANT physical contact and I think painter felt comfortable smith is going to continue to beef up ....he won’t be a Kris kramer type body but he could add ten pounds of muscle and mask the definitively liability a bit. I also , without saying more than I’m allowed , can say Luke likely would have had Waddells offer for 2021, painter/ staff had asked like to put his decision off back in august all the way to December so they could see how recruiting shook out and Luke wasn’t willing to risk losing a high minute option at the mid major level. I think painter likes the style and feels he can cultivate it I think smith will be successful in it and we will regret letting both players go without kicking the tires -

Did you say essegian was from Carrol ? Boy would they have been stacked with him on the team and only if he plays for the lakers and has time between the beach being a tennis pro and founding Harley Davidson -

Interesting though that we thought loyer had the chops to lead the pack next year but thought his transfer status may hurt him ....he still got on over the other three potentials we mentioned -

I actually agree with this fully ....I think the days of the 6’1 and under guards who aren’t freak athletes and the post players who aren’t either massive and athletic or good shooters are going to end up 1 or 2 year rentals at mid majors and there will be almost a secondary recruiting market for 2-4 year transfers -

I gotta respectfully completely disagree NTL. I’m with 5fouls and btown. I of course am a brown guy but I started to see a uniqueness about this class when they were 8th graders and have followed closely. There isn’t a sure fire nba player in the bunch but in terms of quality players from 1-30 I personally don’t remember another class this well rounded and deep. If you’re judging it but number of top 100 prospects I see your point sort of but as a whole this group is just unreal successful. The kids from 30-40 in State are the type that would be filling out all star slots with your 3 top 100 prospects from the other classes you mentioned. I won’t make any claim this group will have outstanding professional contribution but they may be the best suited group to division 1 basketball success I’ve ever seen . A group of 3 and 4 year program changers and contributors that we will see mountains of success going forward . -

I’m not familiar with barker tell me about him ......I know this class well so it’s neat to hear a new name ( I had considered kolden van landingham also ) .....sparks was probably right there with kolden at the border of 15 -

I don’t think anyone can be outraged but I think I could make a second 14 man team to play this 14 man team and I think any from the second group of 14 likely would have made the first team in normal years ....I would go ( in no particular order or rank ) : 1. LT Hatton 2. Owen deas 3. Malik Stanley 4. Payton sparks 5. Quimari Peterson 6. Colson Montgomery 7. Chris mantis 8. Vincent Brady 9. Gus etchison 10. Bryson graber 11. Curt hopf 12. Lincoln hale 13. Jake heidbreder 14. DJ Hughes -

I’m with you that was the one that stood out to me ...and that ISNT a knowing on Sisley but that’s literally the replacement comparison in my head. I also might argue colson Montgomery over Blackmon or Taylor like you also pointed out they are both incredibly worthy I just thought Montgomery played his way on ......the rest you and I were pretty darn close on -

Barnhizer got away with it but playing three years vs two makes a pretty big difference .....I think what will go a long way with those two is if smith can get Westfield past Carmel vs whether or not homestead still dominates Fort Wayne without goode....if both those things happen or neither of them smith probably gets the non transfer nod if loyer gets homestead to the usual position and smith loses to Carmel in sectionals he might have a tough time -

I agree if anything they could have expanded it to 15 and tried to add a third game but again I could be mixing up the juniors if so I’m sorry -

I’m not 100% but I’m almost sure u saw the team this year was reduced to 12 ...although that may have been the junior all stars i read about ....I definitely am curious about the workout kids like Montgomery and jacobi could really shore up their position -

Coach that is super helpful That is how I thought it worked and if I’m not mistaken votes were due prior to the top 60 workout ....do you know what if any impact the workout has or if the state teams staff gets to have any influence over spots say 7-12 ?
