I just hope we don’t lose Walsh. He’s been the one big bright spot on the staff.
Woody's probably planning to fire Walsh and Hulls so he can bring in Kenny Payne and Randy Wittman. Â

I agree 100% in general. In this particular instance, though, as much as I agree that a leadership change for the program is needed, I can also understand why the deep pockets are reluctant to buy out another HC so soon, just 3 years removed from Archie and less than 4 months after Allen. Especially when the current AD -- justifiably or not -- extended Allen and recently gave Woodson a raise, jacking up the cost of the buyouts.
Buyout is only a $1M a year. That's not a reason to not cut bait. Dolson actually knew what he was doing with that "raise".

I still think this happens.Â
I'm 50/50. It would beyond insane if the administration brings him back for more season just so Mike can walk the green mile. Everyone knows exactly how this will end and it will be very toxic and ugly. Not sure the program could ever recover.

They definitely are… Woody certainly has his own struggles, but all he’s really doing is continuing the trend of the past 25-30 years. Maybe one day the administration will figure it out
No other top 50 program much less a top 10 program would've even given Woody a sniff if he had wanted to get into college coaching. I don't blame Woody. Yes he's clueless and lazy but if you were going to pay me millions of dollars a year to sit around drink wine, and smoke cigars, I'd jump at the opportunity and so would everyone here.
He never should've been hired.

Great ROI.  At least we have the Simons to buy a bunch of unnamed mercenaries who are cash-focused to support the coach they are imposing on the AD and the consumers of the product.  Good thing we wouldn’t stoop to hiring Pearl. Â
We have the biggest recruiting budget and most NIL $ in the entire B1G.
But we also have the worst coach in the league and the dumbest administration in the whole country. These things tend to balance themselves out.

Mike Woodson is the most incompetent college basketball coach I’ve ever seen. Once again Walsh got Liam to commit and then Woodson bailed and Liam decommitted.Â
Sadly the administration might be even more incompetent than Woody. We'll find out over the next 10 days or so.

Someone help me with this time line. Didn't rabjohns drop that list of like 7 damning things on Woodson earlier in the week? Â
Was rabjohns/peeps in the front of the line on this info from sources?
Yes. Sounds like Dolson sure wanted to make a change just didn't have the support he needed. Too many clueless administrators still running the show. Apparently many are very butthurt on how Glass treated Woody when Crean was fired.  Because of that he gets another year and it has nothing to do with what's in the best interests of the program.

Chris Mullin got 4 years at St Johns. Ewing got 6 at Georgetown. Hard to fire a legend.Â
A legend in his own mind only.

The worst part of that whole situation was when Alford had his AIA buddy contact the victim and try to get her to meet with her assailant and not bring charges
Sounds like we need a man with morals and integrity...

I would be completely done with the mens basketball team if Alford hired. Which, I have found it really easy to ignore the last part of the season so meh. Whatevs
If we can't hire Pearl because of the BBQ incident there's no way we can hire calendar boy due to the Pierre Pierce incident. Right?

From my understanding, many admins (BOTs or others) still aren't thrilled with his baggage from early years. Now could they change their mind? Sure, with Dolson's help maybe even. However, at this moment in time, it seems May is the leader at the turn.
If it's Dusty we'll be shopping for a new coach in 3-4 years. These people never learn. You have to hire a coach with the street cred to keep the mob at bay. Anyone else is 100% guaranteed to fail.
