They likely aren't. But, as thing stands now, we could wake up Sunday morning praying that Peen State doesn't have another miracle in them. And, it's not like OSU is evil empire #1 on the average IU fan's list. The same people that root for PSU against OSU or going to root for PSU against the Toiletmakers, MSU, Illinois, Wisconsin, etc. They might as well be wearing PSU gear at that point. Root for outcomes that benefit IU. That's all I'm asking for.

'Creighton is another team that I can't reconcile being ahead of IU. Their metrics are actually worse than Xavier's and they play on the same conference. Yet, almost all of the brackets have them safely in.

I think a lot of fans have become overconfident about our position. Lunardi has us as the last team in. While, I would have us ranked ahead of Xavier, I think it's relatively easy to make an argument we should be behind everyone else currently ahead of us. If we lose today, there are 4 additional teams primed to stake a claim to our spot should they win (SMU, Dayton, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma). After that, you still have to worry about a team currently further out of the picture in conferences like the SEC and A10 that could grab a spot by winning the conference tournament. A win today should seal it unless all sorts of crazy stuff should happen. But, a loss, especially if it is a big one, and I'm still concerned about where we are at.

Well, let's hope PSU does not win the BTT. That would/could be our spot in the NCAA. Plus, it makes our victory over OSU look worse. I will never understand rooting for an outcome that could be detrimental to IU in the long run. No school is worth hating so much that it means bad things for the Hoosiers.

Wake Forest has 23 wins and actually has a higher KenPom than us. The ACC may be down from an elite team standpoint behind Duke, but don't be surprised if they show better in the tournament than the Big Ten. Xavier, however, is just absurd. I can find 6-8 teams that deserve to be in ahead of Xavier.

That's just idiotic to have Xavier still ranked ahead of us. Wake, you can make the argument they have a better overall record. Michigan, you can make an argument that they beat us easily in Bloomington earlier in the season. Xavier though? There is absolutely nothing there that is in their favor. Nothing. Except maybe non-conference SOS. In KenPom, we are 43 and Xavier is 59.

Georgia was 16-14 one year and got in. And, that was with 64 teams, not 68.

They are primed for a deep run coming off a great regular season. Dare I say Sweet 16?

Season series is tied 1-1. They have a higher NET and more quality wins. We're still in a position where we better hope there are no bid stealers out there.
