  1. Yes. My wife opened an account here for the specific purpose of putting me on ignore.
  2. Made it home before curfew tonight and was piddling around looking at some national stats. This one surprised the heck out of me. I may be misremembering, but it seemed like Al rarely got to the line for us.
  3. I'm high on the prospects for the rest of the season.
  4. How would you rank their odds of making a roster? I see it as: 1) McFadden 2) Hendershot 3) Fryfogle
  5. It's not any single thing. The voice is different, but so is Tom Petty's. And, I love Tom Petty. Could be as simple as he broke out a little before my time. So, I never really listened to him growing up.
  6. Just a lot of general talk about the irresponsibility of it, the potential impacts to the tournament goal, and that this wasn't the first time this year some of these guys had been in trouble. Jim Coyle, who was at the game commented about Stewart seeming to sulk throughout warmups. One interesting thing that Bozich brought up was that the players room in pairs. So, the math indicates at least one of the 5 went out to party while his roommate didn't.
  7. Daily Commute Musical Update Bod Dylan has sold more than 125 million records. In 2011, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him as the 2nd greatest artist in music history. I can't stand Bob Dylan's music. He's Immediate Channel Change material for me. So, you can imagine how blessed I was to get a daily double of Dylan tunes during my commute today. One going to work and another coming home (shown below in order). The old fingers got a workout changing the channels. Still got some speed in them old bones as well.
  8. Mods. Can we set up a 35 and over forum?
  9. I'm 12. At least according to my wife.
  10. Hey now. Your breaking news last night started this whole mess. You should be required to read it all. Every last bit of it.
  11. You've never seen me play golf, have you?
  12. Every single college team has players that smoke weed. Some are smart enough not to do it in season. Some are not. What I would be looking for as a parent is how the coach handles it. You cant be much more impressive than Woodson was last night in the post game presser. The way he is handling this helps recruiting, not hurt it.
  13. I think it's fair to point out that some posters on here that often have credible, or even first-hand, information are of the belief that this is, or very well could be, more than just a curfew violation. We'll have more info when we see who suits up next game. You cant say a player who smells of weed is suspended for weed until a formal drug test is completed (or the drug is found on his possession. But, you can say a player who missed curfew was suspended for missing curfew. Add to it the report that 2 may have been curfew only while 3 were curfew and another offense. You sure as heck cant make a blanket statement that it's a drug related suspension when that may not be true for 2 of them. There is more to this. If nothing else, it's repeat trouble for several of these guys.
  14. I have a gut feeling that the suspension for some may be longer than others. Some could be curfew only. Some could be curfew plus another violation. Some could be repeat offenders. For some, it could be a first offense. Would not be surprised to see some back next game while others sit 2 or 3 more games.
  15. '78 could have been a first offense vs repeat offense decision. Should not automatically assume it was hypocricy.
  16. That was the reason for last night's suspension. Doesn't mean it's the end of the story. Doesn't mean the players can't be tested once they get back to Bloomington. Watching Woodson's post game presser and his level of anger and frustration seemed to go well beyond what we would see for missed curfew. Coul just be that is because many of these guys have had previous off court issues. Could be there is more to last night than a simple curfew violation. Could be both. I'm leaning both. I think there is a process in place that needs to be completed before it can officially be something other than a curfew violation.
  17. I would have been tempted to send them to post-game press conference to answer questions. For Woodson, it has to be especially frustrating that Xavier, Durr, and Bates are involved. Those are guys he brought in, not a problem he inherited. Those three guys sure didn't show their appreciation for the opportunity.
  18. This isn't about the significance of smoking marijuana. We can debate all day about whether it should be legal or whether alcohol is worse. This isn't about braking curfew. It doesn't even matter if it was just 10 minutes or 3 hours. This is about breaking team/program rules. Life is full of rules/laws that can be debated. I have a dress code I have to conform to at work. Among other things I can't wear t-shirts. I can't wear shorts. I can't wear flip-flops. it doesn't matter if I violate one of those or all three, if I'm caught breaking dress code, I'm reprimanded and sent home. If I do it again a few weeks later, the reprimand will be more stern. I blatantly do it a 3rd time and I'm probably fired. The thing is, none of those things have a bearing on how I do my job. I'm not client facing. I'm not doing a job where my likelihood of injury is dependent on what I wear. Why make a big deal about it? Because it's a rule and one that takes little or no effort to abide by. Following rules is part of being accepted in a group.
  19. based on some unexplained benchings earlier in the year, it's entirely possible this is not offense #1 for several of these guys. Repeat offenses deserve a significantly larger punishment than offense #1.
  20. Could be different levels for different players if some were curfew only and others were both curfew and something else.
  21. Don't disagree with you. But, when it's a team/program rule and breaking that rule has negative consequences to the team, then the players involved need to do some soul searching and decide what is important to them.
  22. So, if the above a true, does the athletic department drug test the players when they get back to Bloomington, and if those come back positive, is there additional punishment?
  23. Mods, please delete if you feel this is inappropriate: Saw a post on another site. States a source close to the situation says the players were caught sneaking back into the hotel, smelling of, and possibly possessing Marijuana.
