  1. 100% agree on Watford. After I. Thomas and Alford, Watford was the easiest roster spot for me to pick. Unfortunately, since I was going to pick Race from this year's team, Watford has to come off the bench for me.
  2. You have 2 starters from the '81 team and none from this year's team. Every team listed must have 1 player in the starting lineup. And, you just can't switch out Turner for TJD. TJD has to play the 5.
  3. You have 3 guys from '12-'13 (Oladipo, Zeller, and Watford). Limit of 2 per players from each one of the 5 teams).
  4. Keep in mind that I did ask the mods to create an 'Over 35 Only' forum and they refused.
  5. 2 player limit per team. You have Abernathy, May, and Wilkerson from '76.
  6. '12-'13 did have 2 of the top 4 draft picks in the NBA, as well as an invaluable shooter at the 4 position that I predict will end up on 75%+ of these rosters.
  7. True. And, yes, your interpretation of the rules is correct.
  8. 5 starters so 5 roster. '3 championship teams and this year's team. See explanation in my response to @GaloisGroupeabove.
  9. TJD and Zeller both can't be in the starting lineup. They are both listed at the '5'. And, with the 2 player limit, you can't have Dipo, Zeller, Watford, and Yogi all on the roster. I didn't choose '92-'93 because I wanted to have a little more recency with the '12-'13 team. The overall exercise was to integrate someone from this team year's team onto a Championship caliber roster.
  10. It says a lot about the '12-'13 team that I was actively looking for ways to get Ferrell, Oladipo, Watford, and Zeller on my team.
  11. One of the rules is that your starters must play 25+ minutes. Keep that in mind.
  12. In reviewing my team, my defense at the wing positions is quite poor. I expect all of you can do better than I did.
  13. Race seems to get where he wants to be a lot more often and effectively than TJD does. You raise a valid point regarding the defender. But, taking advantage of the situation in front of you is a measurement of effectiveness.
  14. I struggled getting enough shooters on my team. I originally had Buckner and Oladipo on my roster as well, but ended up having to drop both to get May on the roster.
  15. Here would be my roster. it's harder than I thought it would be, and when I analyze it more, I may change my mind. 1) I. Thomas 2) Alford 3) May 4) Thompson 5) Zeller B) Smart B) Watford B) Benson
  16. A lot of lineup discussions with this team, Thought it might be fun to try to take the players from this year's team and integrate them into a lineup made up from players in IU's Past. Here are your rules Select an 8-man rotation from the starting rosters of the 5 IU teams below Your team will consist of 5 starters and 3 bench players. Positions matter for the starters. The number by the player's name below represents their spot in the starting lineup Every IU roster below must be represented on your team. No more than 2 players can be selected from any of the teams As a coach, you are committed to playing all starters 25+ minutes You must select at least one STARTER from each of the 5 teams below. Yes, that means someone from this year's team starts Rosters were determined by who started the most. For example, Turner started more than J. Thomas in '81 Not required, but If you want to offer an explanation on how you put your team together, it would add to the discussion Remember, your starting lineup can only have one starter from each team and starters cannot be shifted off their designated position Edit: I didn't pick '92-'93 because I wanted an additional 'recent' team in the mix. Hence '-12-'13. The 3 champions and this year's rosters are at the core of the exercise. '75-'76 Roster 1) Buckner 2) Wilkerson 3) May 4) Abernathy 5 Benson '80-'81 Roster 1) I. Thomas 2) Wittman 3) Kitchell 4) Turner 5) Tolbert '86-'87 Roster 1) Smart 2) Alford 3) Calloway 4) D. Thomas 5) Garrett '12-'13 Roster 1) Ferrell 2) Hulls 3) Oladipo 4) Watford 5) Zeller '21-'22 Roster 1) X. Johnson 2) Stewart 3) Kopp 4) Thompson 5) Jackson-Davis
  17. Race is a more effective scorer down low than TJD.
  18. Daily Commute Musical Update Heard this one on the drive this morning. Not a song I'm going to download, an album I'm going to rush out and buy, or one that I miss when I don't hear it for a while. But, it's one of those songs that is infectious and brings back some memories. As a baseball-crazed youth in 1970's, this song means the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates. Willie Stargell, Dave Parker, et al. I got to attend one of the NLCS games that year. Alas, the Pirates beat my beloved Reds in both that game and the series. As I said, the song is infectious and fun to listen to. Carload of People Approved.
  19. Kind of the way I see it. If he makes it, it's ok. If he misses it, he isn't the one I wanted shooting.
  20. I'm going to predict the following in regards to the WC5 for the MSU game: X starts and plays his usual # of minutes Stewart, Bates, and Lander all play, but for less than 10 minutes Durr does not play
  21. My parents were 100% country music, with some gospel thrown in if it was sung by a country artist. Dad passed when I was in college back in the 80's. But mom didn't pass until last year. I now have literally hundreds of Country music albums from the 60's and 70's. I think I counted over 20 Johnny Cash albums alone. Cash was my dad's favorite. At some point I need to sort through and decide which ones I want to keep, which ones might fetch something if tried to sell it, and which ones aren't worth keeping or trying to sell.
  22. I have this CD, but haven't listened to it in ages. It is a great song.
  23. You guys are missing some incredible halfpipe performances in the Olympics.
