  1. I can do a quick calc based on the figures published on the IHSAA site, but keep in mind they are 3 years behind because of Covid. No reclass has been done since 2019. I'll get those posted here in a minute though, in order to get a ballpark
  2. What's Brownstown's enrollment these days? The one on the IHSAA site from the reclass has you at 562, which would put you near the bottom of 3A.
  3. IHSAA apparently looking at a proposal to go to 5 classes in basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball. Class breakdown would be strictly based on enrollment, with no regard to balance the numbers between classes. 2000 + would be 5A 1000-1999 would be 4A 550 -999 would be 3A 300-549 would be 2A Below 300 would be 1A May not get passed this year, but gaining momentum.
  4. We have more games? I thought the season was over.
  5. Any IU fan that resents or has animosity towards Tom Crean for what he did at IU is off base. He stepped up to the challenge when others shied away. He brought us some great moments. He didn't embarrass the program off the court. The only thing he didn't do was win enough. In the end, he was not the long term answer, but he was a very good short term option.
  6. Girls semi-state action today. I'm headed to Jeffersonville to watch defending 3A champ Silver Creek take on Indianapolis Chatard.
  7. I have no clue why he left Texas Southern for Detroit Mercy. He probably had the Texas Southern job for life. I guess he was looking for an opportunity for Antoine to play against slightly better competition. But, it was a mistake to leave Texas Southern in my opinion. -
  8. As Rico said, Davis did not 'flop'. Does he have a 'ceiling' as a coach? Yes. But, he did a darn good job at Texas Southern. And, for the uninitiated, don't look at the overall record. They would consistently start the season with their first 12-13 games on the road against quality competition.
  9. Pekin will be a tougher out than they have been in recent years. Sitting at 15-3 overall. Only losses are to the Top teams in the conference.
  10. Tubby Smith steps down as High Point's coach, effectively immediately. Story references bout with Covid 19 as a factor. He may have coached at UK, but I always have had a lot of respect for Tubby. Quality man. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/33304670/tubby-smith-steps-high-point-panthers-men-basketball-coach-son-gg-smith-takes-over
  11. I've only seen him play once, against Silver Creek. It's so hard to tell when the kid is a freshman or sophomore, especially a coach's son because you don't yet have enough info to determine how much the system is helping his performance. But, Purdue is already in the mix, and we all have to admit that Painter has done a good job identifying in state talent early on in the player's high school career. Some things you have to like about him. He can shoot the ball at a very high level. He is 6'4" and apparently still growing. If he tops out 6'7" or 6'8" with his shooting ability, he will be in high demand. He is a coach's son. We can see that in some of the things Galloway does on the court for IU. No reason why Benter does not benefit from such a relationship as well.
  12. I think it's the latter. I doubt anyone on here has seen enough of Jack to judge what level of college ball he is capable of.
  13. Once Benter gets his first Power 5 offer, the comparison should end. Correct?
  14. The bottom 3 teams in the conference drags it down a bit. But, with the Floyd Central win, they are now 3-2 against the Top 64 in the Sagarin ratings in the state. By contrast, Lafayette Jeff, a 'large' school that just recently produced a Big Ten player in Barnhizer, is also 3-2 against the Top 64. Bloomington South, another 'large' school in people's eyes is just 2-4 against Top 64 opponents. Fort Wayne Blackhawk, a small school that plays a tough schedule is 1-3 against Top 64. Basically, unless you're an Indy are school, a schedule like Brownstown's is similar to most others in the state.
  15. Back when Kaufman and Jacobi were at Silver Creek, after their sophomore years, Silver Creek significantly upgraded their schedule to get some tougher and higher profile matchups. Don't be surprised if Brownstown does the same. Could see them in the Hall of Fame Classic and/or the Southport Shootout over the next couple of years.
  16. Purdue is already. No word on IU that I have heard.
  17. The Reds better be careful. Attendance has already been lagging the last few years. If they go full blown rebuild, I'm afraid it will end up being long term (I'm talking decades). Orioles type stuff.
  18. I think I've tried to listen to them twice in the last 5-6 years when SC played up there. It is an experience.
  19. It's a new car package across the board. I assume the change is safety, but I'm not sure.
  20. Just started this year. I did not know about it until last night. Went from 5 to 1. Looks like it will knock several seconds off a pit stop.
  21. One lug nut pit stops is weird.
  22. I watched some of the short track race as well. It was interesting, but that track may have been just a little bit too small.
