  3. I work in downtown Louisville. It truly is almost a surprise now to see someone with a suit on. People in the financial industry, at least in Louisville, just don't wear them any longer. When I see someone with a suit on, I just assume they are an attorney who is due in court that day. Pre-pandemic, I used to travel several weeks a year to Chicago for work. Suits were a little more common there, but still just a fraction of what they were 15-20 years ago.
  4. Purdue was on him much earlier. There is no question about that. But, it was more than that. I personally don't think Covid had anything to do with it. Archie could have visited him every day and would not have formed the connection he had with Painter. Woodson's NBA experience could have been something that may have been a factor in the decision if it had been in play at the time.
  5. Purdue was ahead of IU in that recruitment from Day 1. Painter built a great relationship with him as a player and a person. Archie simply recruited him as a basketball player. Would have been interesting, though, to see what would have happened had Woodson been hired a year earlier.
  6. I will probably overreact to a degree if we win. I won't declare us national champions or anything. But, I may run around the house screaming for a good while and make fun of all Purdue fans I know. If we lose, I'm honestly expecting it, and don't think I'll react any differently if it's by 2 points or by 35.
  7. One of the best days of my life was when my company went business casual. I absolutely loathed having to put a suit and tie on every day, ironing my shirts at night (or in the morning), and picking up and dropping off at the dry cleaners. I can't imagine going back to a work environment where I had to do that again.
  8. Remember this game from Carsen Edwards in 2019? We still lost the damn thing.
  9. Did something happen on the 15 yard line?
  10. If someone were to compile a list of the top 10 scourges in society, people that blatantly ignore the item limit in the self-checkout lanes at the grocery are near the top. Was in my second grocery of the night to buy TWO items (because the first grocery is unable to stock properly, but that's another story). Six self checkout lanes were distributed as such One was not operational One was in use by a person who apparently never used self-checkout before based on the number of times they had to call the attendant over. One was occupied by a person paying with cash that fed about $30 worth of singles into the machine Another was occupied by a person that moved with the speed of a three toed sloth. I take that back, she was slower than a sloth. And TWO lanes were filled with people who apparently did not think the big sign that says (Limit 20) did not apply to them. Both of these carts were north of 50 items, and one may have been pushing 80. I sarcastically commented to the attendant that maybe they should make the # of items signs a little bigger. She responded that it would not make a difference. She didn't seem to pick up on the fact that I was 'encouraging' her to enforce their own rule. But, the store enforcing the rule is beside the point. What get me is people thinking they are entitled to ignore things like that. Common courtesy means nothing to them. As a result, you have a half-dozen people with 5 or less items standing there for 5-10 minutes waiting for a lane too open up. I used to get frustrated with people that would get through the regular grocery lane waiting for the cashier to finish ringing up a thousand items and then suddenly realize they need to pull their wallet out or get in their purse to find a means to pay. You had an eternity to do that while your $300s worth of groceries were being rung up. But, I now think the entitled donkeys that grossly exceed the item limit are even worse.

  14. Well, we still have a tie at the top, but Seeking6 inched a little closer, so we have a full-fledged 3 team race. Two of us were perfect for the week.
  15. I've seen some real player development. I can't judge the newcomers. But, in my mind, we're seeing a better Trayce, Race, Galloway, and Geronimo than we would have under the previous coaching regime.
  16. That does not fit the Xavier is unplayable narrative.
  17. It's not confusion. The announcers are intentionally adding in the Covid year. It's stupid, but intentional. I've noticed good announcers are avoiding any discussion of class.
  18. Will you say that on the Purdue board? No need to cater to your audience. Purdue will b e and should be favored. If TJD is not 100%, IU is up a creek.
  19. How on earth do we (or any team) guard Edey? We have to get him in early foul trouble. Ivey's ability to beat his defender on the dribble really concerns me as well. Stefanovic must be pressured at the arc every time he touches it. I hate to say it, but it's going to take a sub-par performance from Purdue to win this one.
  20. You might even say it's indecent exposure.
  21. Some announcers are referring players as being in the class they were last year because of Covid. I hate it, but they are doing it intentionally. It is not a mistake.
  22. Two games in a row where our defense was below average for what we've seen so far this season.
