I’m not sure it’s got that much to do with Nike. They aren’t pushing kids to schools like they used to and especially not with Duke since K retired.
Coach is still very involved with the program and working as a conduit for Nike and his beloved program. One of the reasons he selected Jon as his replacement is that he can still hold a lot of sway behind the scenes. Duke wanted to explore some other more established candidates and K shut it down.
Though it is true that Nike--while still funneling kids to programs--isn't doing it at the same clip.

Not a knock on Tony, but no he isn't connected. Sometimes he'll hear something if news trickles down to AC; but even AC isn't very well connected. They even say that about themselves.

I had a client last week acting like he was my only client. I told my admin if he needs that much attention, maybe we're not for him. I get the desire to "feel the love", but if that's what it takes, maybe the fit isn't right.
Maybe Woody feels he needs that time to prepare his current team for the season. I'm OK with that. I'm starting to hate what recruiting has become.
Not you specifically, but I think some fans are reading too much into a few quotes. The kid said publicly what every recruit is saying: I know this relationship is for real when the head honcho is involved. Boogie didn't say anything like no other coaches should visit me or the head coach should be here every other week in person.
He wants the decision maker involved--as it should be and as Woody is.
People should know that Woody is involved with Boogie, Liam and other priority targets to the degree that all involved are happy with. Also, people should know this isn't a diva move by Boogie, Liam and others. These recruits are ultimately putting their career in Woodson's hands. They aren't asking for anything more than what all the other kids are asking. Finally, kids should feel empowered to ask for the entire staff's involvement. This is their life. Get to know all of the people you are placing trust in.

I don't know if this will, but for the sake of clarity Woody did visit Boogie earlier in Sept.
Ya went separately more recently.
Woody is putting in the work.

NIL battle sounds like. Just getting the numbers right. Maybe….maybe not? 🤷🏻
Just FYI - Eric on today's HH Twitter livestream said that's almost never the case. That's not how school's present NIL. That's not how recruits, their agents and other decision makers approach schools. He said may it's that for .001% of recruits. He said last minute NIL maneuvering isn't part of the decision process for Liam now. He has NIL info from both schools and was clearly ok with both presentations.

He says we are...
And he did say this when Mac Mgbako committed...
“He already committed? It was Indiana. Right?” Harper told Rivals national analyst Rob Cassidy. “I knew it. I mean, he didn’t tell me or anything. I just assumed it was Indiana because Mike Woodson is going to put him in the best position to succeed and to get to the next level.”
The kid wants mystery and suspension around his decision. That's fine. But other more tangible signs point to IU being less involved and a very unlikely landing spot. There's no public talk of him making a senior visit. There's no talk of IU visiting his school or his home. On the less tangible side, but still notable, national analysts with good reputations are saying IU isn't involved.
Maybe every sign and insider is wrong. Certainly things can change. But just the kid saying he is still considering five when there’s other insights to the contrary doesn't make me a believer. Kids are known to say things publicly that aren't true to help their buzz, to keep certain other schools working hard for them, etc. A kid like Harper from a basketball family knows this game within the game.

Yes. They beat them twice in the recent span of 28 wins, but let's not let facts get in the way. Opinions are a much better way to argue.
We get it. You love ND football. While we're throwing out facts, you know the one year Clemson was good that ND beat them Clemson was without their starting QB. Another fact us that Clemson hasn't been the same the last couple of years. Another fact is that Clemson isn't the measure of how good a team is. Another fact is that ND has the nation's longest bowl losing streak. Another fact is that despite getting placed in the CFB playoff repeatedly they never won a game. Since you love facts, take a look at ND's record in BCS games.
Whew . . . Sorry. That was too much. I just really can't stand ND . . . especially on an IU basketball forum.

If that's how you choose to dissect it, sure. I didn't credit any of them, other than Yogi.
I just said... the movement went to two Sweet 16s and won BTT titles. Which is all fact.
Ha ha. It's not fact because the movement was a group of people. The group didn't achieve what you are talking about. Yogi from that group did.
It's all good though. Hope you're enjoying the summer and we can all look forward to a great 23-24 season.

Well... because technically, the movement went to two sweet 16s and won two titles. Their contributions to those teams were pretty substantial (starting PG on both teams, and Yogi was 1st team All conference) it's just not what we expected.
If we get an all-conference first-team selection from each recruiting class, we are going to be in a good spot.
My point is "the movement" did not do all of that. One player from that group it. It was not the movement, it was Yogi. Big difference, technically. 😉
You can't credit Hanner, Jeremy, Ron, and Peter because they weren't on the team, and it was that whole recruiting class that was the movement. So, just Yogi accomplishing those things doesn't mean the movement (the whole class) accomplished those things.

Not ultimately the end goal, but...
I don't know what you mean by "technically," so I may be off base here; but "The Movement was Yogi, Ron Patterson, Jeremy Hollowell, Peter Jurkin and Hanner."
Yogi and another cast of teams achieved the titles and Sweet 16s. Ron never played at IU. Peter appeared in 11 games in two years and transferred. Jeremy transferred after two years. Hanner was dismissed after three years.
Yogi was the only one in that group to get meaningful minutes for the first title and Sweet 16, and he was the only one ofbthat group that was still on the team for the second title and Sweet 16.

I like the All Of Them reply. Leal, Galloway, XJ and an open scholly come to mind will be gone. There will be others.
Keep in mind Leal and Gallo have their covid year still, though is seems Leal is ready to move on after this year.
Regarding others, Ware and Mack are very possibly moving on after this year.

Wonder how many LOI's these days have NIL clauses with guaranteed amounts. (Maybe none) but I bet a few have tried. Would be interesting to see if a player claims "breach of contract" if such a clause existed...
They can't have NIL clauses in the NLIs. NIL comes from businesses outside of the school.

Thanx...wasn't aware of that aspect of it. So there are several hundred kids who entered the portal, didn't find a new team, and are "out on the street" at this point? (assuming coach doesn't want them back)
I'd be curious about the final numbers, but kids understand when they officially enter the portal they no longer have a scholarship with the previous school.
Some kids are welcomed back, some decide to give up the sport, some transfer to a different level, DII, DIII, NAIA, etc. End points run the gamut.

I was wondering if a "tweak" to the portal would help.
You enter the portal, the door back home is locked, and you don't have a key.
Can certainly see both sides, for and against such an idea, but it would no doubt reduce the 1500+ kids in the bball portal each year.
When one enters the portal the door is locked, unless the coach wants to unlock it. The current rule is if one enters the portal one forfeits the current scholarship.

I play golf and cards with (getting ready to go Ferris Bueller) Goode's Aunts brother. She's the one married to Trent Green. Always was an odd commitment and wouldn't surprise anyone if he didn't finish his career there.
Wouldn't Goode's aunt's brother be Goode's uncle? Just curious about how to read your Simone-esque lineage. Ha ha!

This just seems like some trolling. The account that took this picture claims to be Catching's agent. Not sure an agent would do that to his client. A lot of shadiness around this.
Furthermore, the "agent" looks like he is in high school and he has two other IG pics -- one a joke about video games and one of him on a big slide.
Also, the story with the pic now says the material is no longer available -- and it's not because the 24 hour period lapsed.
Don't know what will happen with KC, but some dudes are having fun playing with the fan bases.

It is not on his instagram. He was tagged by Indiana Central with it but not on his page. Therefore, with that theory, they would credit Indiana Central and not him.
It's just an example of different ways. I'm saying it was on his IG.

It could be they took it from his IG and are crediting that. (Not saying he is or isn't going to IU. Just saying g how they may have gotten the photo and therefore have to credit the image.)
