Madison22
I often forget that these players are real people, trying to earn a living and provide for their families. And that's it's very hard. From an article today: Dekker admitted that he was in a "really dark place professionally" after being waived by the NBA's Toronto Raptors in November. "I've had a lot of doubts over the last six, seven years. A lot," Dekker said. Now age 27, he was selected 18th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. He played just one minute in the NBA this season, after returning from two seasons overseas. Dekker contributed 12 points, five rebounds and an assist in 22 minutes as Bahcesehir College defeated Unahotels Reggio Emilia 90-74 to win the 2021-22 FIBA Europe Cup in Istanbul, Turkey. Edit: Good for him. Sometimes the life we get isn't the life we planned. And it's harder than we thought it would be. I don't expect to see him in the NBA again.
