IU has a hockey team that is not D1 but is Club Hockey and they are a pretty good team! They’ve made it to the Final Four for the second year in a row. Go Hoosiers!

Right? Who knew IU had club hockey? I found out a few years ago and they're fun to follow and support.  

And they are cool jerseys! They do have hockey jerseys for sale! You can buy merchandise directly from the team - helps w/ their expenses as they're a club sport and the members are responsible for all of the expenses.  They do have some sponsors. Is there a world where IU Hockey gets elevated to a full scholarship sport? Obviously Jerry Yeagley was able to do that with soccer many years ago. Seems like it could be a nice addition.

I have no idea, but that would be great. Would move them up to D1 I think. Currently, as it’s considered a club sport, they have to pay all of their expenses. Ice time is not cheap! They sure are a fun team to follow!

Decades ago (when I was at IU) they had a club level rugby team. One thing they did to raise money for the team was to sell t-shirts.

The front of the shirts simply said - It Takes Leather Balls to Play Rugby.

Hahahaha that’s awesome! They still have a club rugby team, and they’re pretty good! They also have a 7’s team. Their field is by the IU surplus supply, over off 10th street, sponsored by Mark Cuban.

IU & Lindenwood are tied at 1 all after the end of the 1st period. AND they have suspended the game due to a tornado warning. So. Hopefully weather will cooperate and they’ll be able to continue in a bit. 🙏

IU Hockey game did not restart after the weather-related suspension. Info regarding the postponed game should be forthcoming soon - some time tomorrow I would expect.
