Hoosierhoopster
There's a HH thread up but thought this was worth it's own thread, ITH's takeways from ITH: https://www.insidethehall.com/2018/09/30/five-takeaways-from-hoosier-hysteria-4/ Summary: 1. Most concise HH -- 90 minutes. ITH's take -- IU "cut the fat" making it better overall. 2. Romeo gets uber recognition -- last frosh to be introduced, so loud it drowned out the PA. 3. Fitz's outside shooting lived up to the hype -- but we didn't see his "majestic" arsenal of post moves (as described by a former teammate) -- that's promising. 4. The new floor projections gave the recruits the best seats for the show -- that was well thought out. 5. The recruits in attendance reflect a really good draw -- in addition to TJB and KB, Jr., Furst and Lander (2021), top 2020 IN prospect Leal along with Jaden Ivey, Pierce Thomas, DJ Hughes and Jalen Blackmon (2021). From the other thread, other take aways from members here include that Al showed much improved pg play and (just a HH scrimmage but) looks ready to go, Race and Jake impressed, and Hunter and Damezi showed reason to believe they will be very good by their soph seasons. 5fouls
If Al wins the PG job, does that light a fire under DG or cause regression?

jblaz13
There's the old saying of how "everyone" is generally happier when the team is winning a lot. Either is possible , but for all we know still, Green and Al could both come out and eat up minutes together next to Romeo in a 3 guard look.I'm definitely curious how much separation someone close to the situation perceives between Green, Durham, and Phinisee, respectively among the likely PGs though. . What matters just as much is whether or not there is much falloff on the execution if they are spelling each other instead of seeing minutes together. If Archie is getting anything near what he wants out of Green and Durham, there are clear advantages they would give IU as experienced complementary scorers and primary defenders. There are too many kids apparently in the mix to get cornered into any form of assumptions about the outcome of competition for a given spot.. Whether Miller tends to go bigger or smaller will be telling on whether the guards or wings/forwards as a group are giving him closer to what he demands. Whatever approach starts delivering up the W's it likely sticks for a bit, but not sure with this depth. If Juwan and Romeo are killing it , and the rest do enough to help win spots around them should generally be pretty fluid . That is, if everyone is truly in the mix for time. It's been a long time since we went into a season without hearing how ______ _________ just isn't ready to play college basketball yet. Not just years ago, but tenures ago. jblaz13
I predict some pretty damn good line-ups playing mop up time for IU.
