rico
I could have put this in a couple of different threads but I thought it deserved one of it's own. I have never liked the SEC schedule. Hell, I don't like our schedule. But I stumbled across this for all P5 conferences... https://www.bannersociety.com/2019/8/15/20734585/college-football-divisions-pod-system
Zlinedavid
Northwestern and Rutgers as our permanent rivals? Thanks for the chip shots, guys, but I think we'd rather have MSU and Illinois. Good concept overall though. Not sure about the execution in this particular B10 example, but good concept. Yeah, I highly doubt the "author" actually knows IU football. But like you I love the concept.

This is what I came up with when I tried the same thing. I couldn't figure out how to make the numbers come out so I added a fourth team but originally I had the first 3. I like the pod system better though. Much better than East/West divisions and best chance to get more than 1 team into the playoffs and I feel best chance to get your 2 best teams to play each other in the conference championship. Pods: Indiana-Purdue, Illinois, Ohio St., Maryland Purdue-Indiana, Northwestern, Michigan St., Penn State Ohio ST,-Indiana, Michigan, Penn St., Rutgers Penn St.-Ohio St., Rutgers, Maryland, Purdue Maryland-Penn St., Rutgers, Michigan St.,Indiana Rutgers- Michigan, Penn St., Maryland, Ohio St Michigan-Ohio St, Michigan St., Rutgers, Minnesota Michigan St.-Michigan, Maryland, Purdue, Wisconsin Northwestern-Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota Illinois- Northwestern, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska Iowa-Northwestern, Illinois, Nebraska, Wisconsin Nebraska-Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois Minnesota-Wisconsin, Nebraska,Michigan, Northwestern Wisconsin-Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan St. Edit...I can't quite figure out how he did this with 14 teams..14 isn't divisable by 3 so someone could help me but anyways I like that better as with the SEC...the B1G is not balanced schedule wise MOST years. How ever they can do away with the divisions, I am cool with.
