cybergates
Game 7 VS SR Brian Evans and the 1996 Hoosiers get a tough 1st round draw against the fourth-banner hanging 1981 NCAA Champion Indiana Hoosiers. Isiah Thomas, Ray Tolbert, Randy Wittman, and Landon Turner look to keep their winning ways going against the 1996 Big Ten Champs by default after the cheating Purdue Toiletmakers vacated 9 conference wins due to recruiting violations. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/indiana/1996.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/indiana/1981.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995–96_Indiana_Hoosiers_men's_basketball_team https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980–81_Indiana_Hoosiers_men's_basketball_team https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1999-07-01-9907010099-story.html
cybergates
Game 8 VS “The Movement” arrived, but the championship drought continued for the 2013 Indiana team. A popular pre-season #1, Tom Crean’s Hoosiers looked the part, winning the Big Ten outright and finishing with a #1 ranking in the SRS. It was not meant to be, losing to Syracuse might have been the beginning of the end for Crean at IU. 2013 with future pros Cody Zeller, Victor Oladipo, and Yogi Ferrell look to rebound vs. an under-achieving 1964 Hoosier squad that matches 2013’s 3 future pros with 3 of their own in Dick and Tom Van Arsdale and Jon McGlocklin. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/indiana/2013.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/indiana/1964.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012–13_Indiana_Hoosiers_men's_basketball_team https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1963–64_Indiana_Hoosiers_men's_basketball_team
5fouls
1981 versus 1996. One of the teams was a dominant NCAA champion. The other upset them in this mythical tournament. Just kidding. 1981 in a cakewalk. 2013 versus 1964. The 1964 team, with absolutely no size, is forced to try and triple team Cody Zeller. 2013 wins despite Will Sheehey and Victor Oladipo having words about who was guarding that Van-Arsdale kid. I always wondered if they had been triplets if the 3rd one would have been named Harry...

That 96 team overachieved for sure. Hard working kids. I think they would have kept it closer than people think but in the second half they just wouldn't have had anyone that could keep Thomas out of the lane and 81 pulls away. 2013...yeah the team that underachieved...and get's saved from an embarrassing upset after McCracken throws Crean for a loop by coming out in a 2-3 zone in the second half as the 64 Hoosiers battle their way back. However down the stretch Jordy Hulls is able to stave off the comeback at the free throw line to send 2013 on....but is the blueprint out on this bunch...only time will tell.
