He was ranked around 30 in the class of 2017. Recruited by Crean and Buckley. Seems like a lifetime ago. Kind of surprised he stayed at UL when so many hit the portal.

Can't even imagine the I told you so conversations that take place in certain homes where Dad wanted one and Mom the other. Wish him well overseas. The whole IU fans being the issue with him was always an absolute joke. We definitely have our issues but from the beginning UK fans were telling him not to go there because they wanted other players.

LaRavia with 31p 10r 4a 3stl. Wake 2 starting guards and LaRavia were combined 25-37 from the field. Looks like Dawson Garcia still working his way back from a concussion suffered a couple of weeks ago.

I was talking about how they play and they allow their athletes to play with more of a freedom. Also saying they have more length and athletic ability I say this about SEC & Big 12 big ten doesn’t have the long athletic players in abundance like these conferences do

Purdue has some size inside, but PU doesn't have the length and athletic ability on the wing or the backcourt to compete Was thinking same thing rather play Gonzaga or Arizona

He has brought a lot of top talent in since they hired him, but it hasn't showed up in wins. If he wasn't so popular there, I would imagine his seat would be pretty hot.

For that matter, Juwan Howard didn't either, but at least he had a little more of a resume than Penny did and hired a good bench coach to help him where he was lacking. Penny was a feel-good hire that was premature. I doubt his ego would have accepted an assistant position at Memphis, but that would have been an ideal position for him to recruit and learn how to run a team and develop players.

I saw the Sharpe kid that is going to UK next year already has something like 4-5 million in NIL deals being offered. The SEC has always been the Wild Wild West of skirting the rules when it comes to paying athletes....now that they have an avenue to legitimize it....they will do it better than everyone else. Doesn't mean they will win it all but I get the feeling that conference will see a steady rise as the ADs and conference presidents continue to push athletic excellence above all else.

A quick look says Inside The Hall projected a 4 man class so it looks like there were two more scholarships available but Archie never seemed to use them all. SEC is win at all costs sort and have no problem with working in the grey...something Pearl is very familiar with...plus he is getting tons of talent there. His style of play really lends well to the SEC and wide open/athletic flow that is played and the players that are recruited in that region. I mean he is making over 4 million a year and depending how this year goes he might have the best team in the country and probably set to get another extension and raise. He might leverage that....but I bet Auburn locks him up again just like we saw Alabama do.

I see Pearl as a helluva coach. One that wants to win and also show everyone else he knows how to do it.
