Proud2BAHoosier
Good morning Gang, If you have ever been to Evansville's downtown and travelled on Main street, you would have seen one the largest building, the 420 Main building. After years of neglect and sitting mostly vacant, it was imploded this morning. There had been discussions in the past of how to revitalize it, but it was determined to be way too much for renovations. I remember delivering newspapers there in my younger years. The top floor housed the Petroleum Club, where Evansville's cream of society had there gala events. Not sure yet what will go in the empty spot, but stay tuned.... Here is a video of the implosion. The implosion starts at about the 7:20 mark if you don't want to watch the whole 17 minutes. 420 Main building implosion (14news.com)
FKIM01
Way back in the day, I remember going to a dinner at the Petroleum Club. Guessing late 80's or early 90's. It was still pretty nice then.

I opened my first self funded checking account there (got a nice sling chair and some other swag lol)...but Evansville like many cities has been working hard to revitalize their downtown and I haven't heard what the plans are for that area but I'm sure they will do a good job. dgambill
I also applied for an internship when I was in college with Old National Bank. Made it to the last interview which was like a group interview with 5-6 of us I think. We were all doing well then the last kid said his name and the President said "Oh your Tom in Investment's boy...heard so much about you!" The rest of us all looked at each other and rolled our eyes and I might have cursed under my breath lol....the ending to that story is what you might expect....I did NOT get that internship lol!!
