  1. Anyone fly fish? I don’t fish except I’ve fly fished now and then, and love it. It’s the standing out in a scenic stream / woods that I love, and fly fishing is a blast. I don’t hike nearly as much as I’d like anymore. Love California - Lake Tahoe area, just the scenery is amazing. No pics there but here are some from Puerto Rico - rainforest

  3. I fly fished once. Couple years ago was out in Yellowstone and heard it was going to be during the salmonflies hatch and we should go fly fishing. Booked a morning trip on the Madison river (pic below) in MT. Spectacular scenery. We fished from boat but it was at the tail end of the hatch. By the time I was finally getting proficient, our time was up. Had 1 strike but didn't land it.

  11. Ok, two crazy stories/ quite true I assure you. First I remember me and my older brother went fishing at the Yellow River in Bremen Indiana, my hometown, we could walk to the river in 10 minutes- the fish were biting so well we quickly ran out of bait- my brother says “ I bet I can catch on an empty hook”, needles to say he cast out an empty hook and catches a bluegill. Second story, me and my other olde brother have always fished together and have fished hundreds of times together. Spring time down here in Kentucky we like to seine rocky bottom creeks for hellgrammites / which are larvae form of a Dobson Fly. If anyone doesn’t know what one is, they are a leathery little creature with multiple legs and a pretty decent set of pinchers, smallmouth and rock bass absolutely love them, long story short, I caught a medium size rock bass 7-8 inches and reel it in- go to unhook and find I never had it hooked at all - when the fish went to eat the bait the bait had pinched into its gills and that’s how I reeled it in, my bait caught the fish 🎣. Best story and sorry it’s a poorly told and typed story.

  13. Well, it appears that you cannot see what I copy and paste. The last photo that I just sent came from my picture files. The one you couldn't see was copy and pasted from my e-mail account.

  17. Yeah, got to be careful with the braising part. I use the lowest heat possible on my gas grill and as soon as they're brown on both sides, into the pool they go... You said you were working with thicker pork steaks than I'm probably use to (here, they cut them about 3/4 of an inch) so getting them cooked through will be a bit of a challenge... Glad you enjoyed them!

  26. My kids are both big into Bass fishing, but I've never got "hooked" on it myself. I like to spend time on the water. Canoeing, jet sking, pontooning. Learned to water ski in my 20s and wish i could do that more. My wife and I like to travel and hike. Basically day hikes, nothing overnight. Have hiked some fantastic places. Sedona, a glacier in AK, Yellowstone, and last summer in Banff and Glacier National Parks. Love hiking in the mountains but probably not as hard core as @SteveS ^^^. 1000' elevation over 4 hours or so is my max. My wife was very nervous about crossing the frozen waterfall on this narrow ledge. Think it took about 5 minutes for her to get up the confidence.

  27. I’ve been camping my whole life. I never really got into hunting and I’ve only really fished when I was in the boundary waters and the alternative to eating fresh fish was freeze dried meals. Now I climb mountains. This is my favorite “feet on the beach” pic (taking a break on my way up Torreys peak).
