  1. There...fixed that for you... Bob Knight might have "cut up" with Hammel or Chuck Marlowe, but the rest he mocked incessantly (Game Face?). You're right, though...I have as yet to hear Archie compare the press to prostitutes, or say everyone learned to write in 2nd grade but went on to better things. You seem to have an "in" to the program, attending practices and such. Maybe Archie has been "a jerk" to you personally? I don't know. If you're basing it on the press conferences we all see on YouTube, I, personally, don't think you have much of a leg to stand on. He seems very professional to the press in those. Judging from what I've read, most people think he's pretty congenial when he visits a high school to evaluate a player, and I believe one poster here even said as much after seeing it in first person. But this is the type of thing that really turns me off. The BS about lack of recruiting after landing the last 3 Indiana Mr Basketballs...The BS about lack of player development, even in the face of kids like Juwan Morgan, Race Thompson, and Armaan Franklin... And now come the attacks on his personality...What's the over/under for him pushing an old lady or kicking a dog? Archie Miller will ultimately succeed or fail based on his coaching success or failure...There's no need to manufacture things to pile on...

  3. You don't think they'd be just as happy with the Rodgers and Green Bay vs. Mahomes and Kansas City? The two best QB's currently and a rematch of the 1st Super Bowl? I doubt Brady will be getting calls because the league wants him there.

  4. If his best offer is Toledo he isn’t B1G caliber...sorry just a fact. Archie starts reaching for kids that aren’t getting power 6 offers then that is a sign he is desperate. Archie rarely is one of the first to offer a kid...especially state kid. Something may change but I doubt it. We already see where mid 150s and 250 ranked backcourt is getting us...we need elite talent if we want to win at a higher clip.

  8. Yes, on several alumni dinners where the coaches speak and then mingle with the major, high dollar donating alums he always seems to be the coach that is hard to find. I’m not a major donor but I’ve been a guest to several of these dinners and let’s just say he and Tom Allen are polar opposites. Tom is engaging and “works the room” for lack of a better term and makes it point to go to every person or table he can. Archie on the other hand gives his speech and basically disappears. He’s even not shown up to a couple of these, which to a lot of the big money guys is a major problem. If he were winning at a hire rate would this be an issue? Hell no! He’s not however Edit- I understand people are different but it’s really awkward for the coach of the flagstaff program to be this way to basically the people that write his checks. I believe I’ve seen a few other members of this board at a few of these and they had the same feelings. I’ll let them decide if they want to put their names out or not.

  10. I think most of us realize that information regarding recruits is fluid and don't expect those with connections to the program to be right 100% of time. Most of us appreciate your info so I would encourage you and the others with sources to keep posting what you feel comfortable sharing and don't let the few negative folks keep you from sharing your info!

  12. I wouldn't. Lawrence is going to be a great quarterback. You bring him in for 4 years on the rookie contract and you use the 70 million in cap space to build your team. Watson's contract will kill your cap and not allow you to add the other pieces to your team.

  13. Greatest thing about the NFL. Green Bay, KC, Buffalo, Tampa....has to be at least 3 of the 4 smallest markets in the sport and all have the chance to win unlike some of the other leagues where it's dominated mostly by large market franchises. I don't fault the large market franchises for using their resources one bit in MLB or NBA. It's the rules. In the NFL though size of city doesn't matter because everyone has same cap. It's why the NFL destroys every other league in ratings and fan support. Hoping for a Chiefs vs Bucs Super Bowl....but honestly each of these teams would make a fun SB. Compelling stories across the board.

  14. Hoping for an easy biopsy. My dad had something strange show up on a ct scan that was on an internal rib. Dr gave up on the biopsy and said we will just keep an eye on it annually. Really hoping for the kids sake this is nothing/benign.

  15. I agree with all of that. Several recruits have pointed to the offense as their reasoning. Also, he doesn't seem to have much personality so he doesn't come off as a great salesman. And that hurts when it sounds like he lets his assistants do most of the recruiting then he tries to come in at the end as a closer.

  16. Oh of course. To me it’s a signal about Archie. I can’t say for sure but I personally think he is just not flexible enough in his recruiting. He is so rigid with his system perhaps and not willing to compromise..I just don’t know but his seeming obsessive focus on just the defensive end just doesn’t seem to jive with most top 50 recruits. Whatever the case...I don’t expect UK level recruiting but IU has really never had an issue bringing in special talent. Davis, Sampson, Crean, Archie all have been able to land it but obviously when it isn’t happening at a high enough rate consecutively then problems happen. Archie isn’t Knight...he isn’t good enough to take mediocre talent and get them to the tournament. Most coaches to win at an elite level need elite talent. We’ve been able to land it in the past...I’m honestly surprised Archie hasn’t been able to land better out of state talent to go with our home grown kids.

  17. Yeah outside Romeo we just haven’t been able to land that dynamic playmaker. Someone that will break down a defense or can take his man and make shots. Armaan is coming along but man you try to make a living off developing guys in the 150-200 level and expect they develop and become an all conference player you are probably not going to succeed very often. Archie is just making his job so much more difficult. His margin for error is always so small. From the guys he recruits and expects to develop to the style of play. Just love his job get easier by having some talent advantages out there.

  18. Coach SS is out with the latest edition of his outstanding email newsletter. I’m not going to re-hash all the details out of respect for his work, but let’s just say he and I are on the same page regarding Smith. He likes him, thinks IU should recruit and offer him, and believes he can defend at the B1G level. Sam is a member here. Great stuff, Sam.

My best friends older cousin lived there and when we were in High school we would go down and sled ride down the hill get some Bobes pizza etc. She was HOT!!!!!!! Only reason I wanted to head down there for sure. Completely off topic but brought back some great memories.

  24. We do have a tough schedule next year. @Iowa, Minnesota, and @Purdue for our crossover games. A lot of that depends on which Minnesota team shows up. Non-conference game with Cincinnati. I would love a 10+ win season, but I'd be fine with winning 8 or 9. We just need to keep sustaining 8+ win seasons for a few years to try to help turn the narrative of IU football. I'm not delusional enough to expect that we'll keep beating PSU and UM every year, but those aren't really the games that are must haves. Even if we lose to OSU, PSU, and UM (not saying we should), we would still have a decent shot at a 9 win season before the bowl game. I'd take that. If Penix stays healthy, I don't see us losing to all 3 of those teams though. As much as I want us to blow the ceiling off projections like we did this year, we just need to make sure we don't blow the floor out. If we win 6 games next year, we'll lose a ton of momentum. 8+ wins and we'll be in great shape.

  25. Since CAM has been here I have no sources to the program unfortunately. I do talk with a lot of high school coaches, parents, radio guys for teams and some AAU people. Several IU people that do have connections. Nothing I pass along is my info I wish it were sometimes but its all second or 3rd hand at best. RL was the only 1 that I had true "inside" info on.

  27. It could in human committee eyes but I don’t know that for a fact. I just know that the NET factors in double digit wins/losses. I have read where some coaches will call a timeout down 10 with just a few seconds to go to get into single digits.

  30. I think both sides would decline. Jacksonville and Urb want to start fresh with their guy. Deshaun probably doesn't want to go 2-3 years of growing pains while Jacksonville gets up and running. Place that makes the most sense for money, quality of team, ready to win now, weather,etc.....and for the return the Texans could get is Miami. They have the picks and coming off 10 win season they are ready to take next step now and I just don't see it so far with Tua.

  31. Last week, CVS and Walgreen both said that they can each administer 20-25 million vaccines per month. Quick superficial math: 330M people minus 70M under 16 = 260M. Assume 20% refuse vaccination = 210M to be vaccinated minus 14M already done = 195M x 2 doses = 390M vaccines to be administered. CVS/Walgreen could do it under 10 months on their own. Given vaccine availability, more than 50% of Americans could be vaccinated by the summer.

  34. Honestly Archie is a jerk, I’m sure he’s not that way to recruits but to many people he doesn’t have a great personality. I thought that would work well for him at IU considering we had Knight but it hasn’t to date. Knight would even cut up with the media a bit but Archie is just stone cold all the time.

  35. To be fair, it isn't as though Miller hasn't recruited many top 50 or to 75 players. He just hasn't been very successful landing them. Which is on him but it shows that he does understand the level of talent he needs.

  41. Ah I understand what you're saying. Yes, the B1G is more physical and IMO that's a large reason why we haven't won a national title in over 20 years and a streak I think is unlikely to end anytime soon until the refs in our conference start dictating that teams play real basketball.

  42. However, Indiana does have their fair share of big HS football stadiums too, for example. Evansville Reitz has one of the biggest stadiums I have ever seen. With a capacity of 11,000-12,000, it feels like a small college atmosphere. In 2017, the city’s 2 undefeated teams at the time( Memorial and Reitz) had an electric college atmosphere, if I recall at least over 9,500 tickets were sold, and more people outside watching behind the fences. I remember it being super packed, shoulder by shoulder. I think the Memorial Student Section had 300 students show up. It was a crazy game, my Tigers ended up defeating Reitz, dominating the game. I usually go at least once every year due to away games, though size had weather down due to Reitz having unsuccessful years lately. Except the MD and Castle Games, heard those bring sizable crowds.

  43. Football is worshipped in Texas no joke. Allen High School in Allen, Texas has at least 3 football stadiums I heard, including a College sized stadium with private boxes, large press box, and a seating capacity of 18,000. And I think they have an extraordinary indoor weight room too.
