He inherited a broken roster from Lavall Jordan that couldn't shoot. He brought in seven transfers and three freshmen. Only three holdovers. They played at a very slow pace last year due to personnel. Now they play at a much faster pace and share the ball.
I would imagine the same would happen here if Woodson were fired and someone else brought in.

So I finally started using my Echo show again to play music. Months ago a song I hate came on and I tried everything I could to get Alexa to put it on a banned playlist!!!! Instead because I gave it so much attention it now seems to be one of my favorites!🤬Luckily I figured out how to tell Alexa to SKIP!! AI at its finest!
I'd drown Alexa in the sink if I had one over something like that. A bad song can keep you up all night.

Riding with people who have road rage. Just road rage period. How hard is it to let little stuff go? It's immature and ridiculous.

this was from 2013. It would be interesting to see where it stands now. Gut feeling Indiana is just outside top 10.
Would this include prep schools like IMG, Montverde, etc, or the original state?
I found this more recent article but it only looks at nationally ranked recruits.

True, but he has a resume full of winning big
He does. Just pointing it out because if the expectations are immediate results I doubt he would produce those expectations right away.

How about Thad Matta
He was on local radio yesterday and he said his year at IU was one of his most enjoyable year he has had. I would love to see him come back to be the HC. The only problem is his health
He was 14-18 last year.

Well boys, I just found out my job of 18 years is being eliminated. Glad I've been doing my healthy things so my mental state is strong. The drinking version of myself would be going through an entire case of beer tonight.
Sorry to hear. I had a great position eliminated last June. Tried a couple jobs a few months each I couldn't handle physically because of back issues. Dont have a job yet, just waiting on drug screen/background check on one now. My strategy is a machine gun approach, apply for everything that pays reasonably. Get one and work on finding the right one.
Good to hear on healthy habits and not drinking. I kept getting hung up on day 5. I'm on day 10 today.

Everything has an equal and opposite reaction. The harder these kids push now the harder it's gonna bite them in the ass when the pendulum swings back around.

Knew he was sick but this was a surprise this morning. RIP
Saw him and Ted Nugent play a double headliner at the Hulman Center once.
This was always my favorite

6 tournaments since 2008 is a fact, not an opinion. For a supposed basketball school, that’s horrid.
Indiana’s 71-110 record in football since 2008 is a fact, not an opinion. It’s the worst record of any B10 team who has been a full-time member at the time of Glass’ hiring.
I can understand bringing up basketball but blaming any AD for IUs football woes is just silly.
I'm going to assume you attended games at memorial stadium before they started closing off the ends and making upgrades. Now that was an abysmal facility.
I think Memorial Stadium now is pretty nice. No reason for more when we can't fill it up now.

The fact that you don't agree with their decisions doesn't make them amateurs or unqualified. Plenty of universities, including Notre Dame, have hired ADs without any previous AD experience. All of them, including Glass and Dolson, were certainly more qualified than anybody spending 18 hours a day on message boards criticizing them.
I doubt they're making their decisions in a bubble. I would imagine they have some sort of advisement before they make a final decision.

I was also a guy who was calling for a change from RMK on Peegs like 4 years before he had fired. Had an old timer on there threatened to find me and kick my ass. After the tape of the Reed incident he should have been fired.
Also the avatar is more for the trophies
Yeah. That would be about the time he quit getting past the first weekend.

You have a guy in your avatar photo that choked cops and kids. ask his secretary how he treated her for years. Love coach Knight but there is no coach in the country that has done the shit he did.
Winning cures all right?

Sorry but that's definitely too late. May 1st -5th is historically the range in Central Indiana for last frost. By then you are giving your seed a very small window to mature enough to survive summer heat.
Do you mean hard freeze?
Mid March my man.
That would be a better way to put it. I must have been auto corrected.

Anyone know if it's ok to put grass seed down this time of year in Indy?
I would wait to do it right after the last frost. The earlier the better after that.

How is that asking to much
You bring up coach K first 4 years all the time. Name a coach you would want that could win right away. Other than
Beard
Pearl
Pitino
Who could step in and win on day one that you'd be happy with that would meet expectations?

Unless you can guarantee a high caliber coach is ready to sign, I'd give CMW one more chance to show he can construct a team. Add Queen, a PG that can control the game, and another shooter to go with McNeeley and they are back in the hunt.
We also have Jakai Newton that everyone seems to have forgot about.

Those are the expectations
For any coach? I just don't think it's realistic anymore for a new coach at a program that hasn't had a consistent winning culture for 25 years.
I want those results of course.

2 years. Probably makes the tourney fairly easy in year 2.
I could see that as a best case. You'd have to assume he'd retain enough of the roster and be able to work the portal which is no guarantee.
Not saying he wouldn't be a great option.

Establish to what extent? Do I think he would win the national title in year 1? Probably not. Would I expect him not to finish in last place after his 3rd season? Absolutely.
If Jay Wright was hired here I'd expect tournament appearances in years 1 and 2 and by year 3 or 4 a team that could legitimately challenge for a B10 title and make a serious tournament run. I'd expect any coach we hire to do that.
Then you'd be expecting too much.

Jay Wright doesn't need to prove a damn thing.
No he doesn't but realistically how long do you think it would take him to establish his program at a new school? It's not happening in year one.

Of course it was, the results show that. We had a pretty fair 6 year run after that.
People seem to forget IU gave the basketball program the death penalty basically.

Coach Mike Woodson Megathread
in General Basketball Discussion

That would depend on the hire. Since IUs and some people's moral superiority won't allow for a coach like Beard, I'm saying I wouldn't expect results much better than we are getting now. The coaches that could win right away either wouldn't be acceptable for some or aren't coming here.
