63 isn't "old". But when you waltz into a job and do it half-assed like Woodson has, your age is always going to get shoved in your face.
Bruce Pearl is 63 and acts like he's 33. But he also likes to recruit, show his face, etc.
No it isn't old but plenty of people brought up his age before he even coached a game.

There isn't a single coach on anyone's wish list that's going to come coach here. The phone works both ways. As far as it seems none of them have been calling.

Give me Josh Schertz from Indiana State. Hire him this offseason.
If anyone hires Josh Schertz they need to get Matthew Graves to come along too.
Although he may want his own HC job.

We have way too much talent to be where we are at right now. When factoring in poor roster construction
Yeah, we have a bunch of talented peices. This team is like trying trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Thank you!
Not saying by any stretch of the imagination the next coach HAS to be Jay Wright in order for us to be successful. Plenty of good coaches out there and 68 teams make the tourney each year.
Im more than happy to admit I’m one of the more pessimistic IU fans but I still have hope we can land a good coach. Why? Look at all these basic facts. We are near the top in revenue, spending, social media presence, fan game attendance, tv viewership, etc. We have more than enough for a coach to succeed here. To me it boils down to Dolson and presenting such leverage in a passionate and exciting fashion to these coaches and their agents.
If any of this mattered don't you think IU would have already landed one of these top coaches everyone wants?
That's assuming IU has even considered any of them.

Thats why we ended up with Archie Miller and now Mike Woodson. Its Because this school doesn't want another Bob Knight, a coach bigger than life. A school known by who the coach is, not the school. We must face we are who we are. Until the Big donors all dry up, this is it folks.
The culture today at IU and in Bloomington is vastly different than it was pre-2000.

I don't blame him. Why would he. He's probably making 2 mil a year now basically on vacation. And he's likely already made about 50 million. Don't know his family situation or legacy goals. 100 million is a lot of money.
Not just the money. He's been to the top twice. He doesn't have anything to prove.

That, the inbounds play where Loyer looked like he stepped in bounds before he threw it, the foul on Wahl when he stripped Edey...
Gillis floored a kid about 2 minutes before that on a FT rebound... Purdue gets away with a ton...
Look forward to them getting bounced in the 2nd round of the tournament.

Mark Few is 61. Woodson was what, 62-63 when he was hired and most people were bitching about his age.
I'm not convinced he would be as successful in the B1G as he has been at gonazaga.

Sure am sorry about that. Was including 85-86 because of getting beat by Richmond. I know certain teams getting beat by double digit seeds in tourney not once, not twice, but 3x is all glossed over. My apologies.
PS...my aunt, uncle, and sister were in school at the time. Getting beat by Richmond that year to them was worse vs Crean early years, all of Archie,etc...combined.
I'm sure some older fans would consider 76-77 the worst ever.

I can absolutely make a case this season is worse than those, other than the early Crean seasons.
The recent seasons, as in the last Crean year and the Archie years, are all better than this currently. It’s honestly not even close.
04 is probably comparable, 05 is better and 06 was a 6 seed.
We won 19 and 21 games in 85 and 86. Finished second in the Big Ten in 86. How is this team close to that?
I am genuinely curious, what measure are you using to say this team isn’t that bad?
And knock of the implied shots at me, that crap poisons the board more than anything.
Today sucked and the season has been disappointing so far but we have yet to lose 12 of 13 like we did in 18-19. Time will tell but it's a bit premature to say this is the worst season in our life.

Somebody has to get fired for this year. If Woodson is going to get another chance (and I think he will), I am forcing him to fire Hunter at the very least.
Agreed. He's an Archie hire. Why is Hunter still here?

The Netflix documentary on this is incredible a room full of talent.
Is it the one called Greatest day of Pop or something like that?

We are going to lose at home to a 10-11 team without their leading scorer while we have 3 5 star players
We're going to finish the season with a losing record with 3 5 stars. Tell dolson, Go to ISU and get Josh Shertz.
-
Turned it off. Probably for the rest of the season.
-
This isn't just losing. It's become a beatdown.
-
Dolson needs to take a trip to Terre Haute and stop by the Hulman Center.

Jay Wright's first 3 years BTW. How long do you give him to establish himself if you hire him at IU?
