  1. I'll take the check swing strikeout.
  2. And Leiter has probably been their best reliever thus far this season. 😐 Neris can't get the ball in the zone. Not looking good.
  3. I like Nico...his defense if phenomenal, but that is the second time he has gotten picked off this season...he needs to work on that...hopefully that doesn't bite us. I have a feeling the way the bullpen has been overall this season, Cubs will need a couple more runs.
  4. Man...Assad was one out away from getting through 6 scoreless innings before coming out, now pulled after giving up 2 run shot...3-2 Cubs still.
  5. I never had a great breaking curve ball. I had decent fastball, and good change up, that had lots of movement/drop that I used quite a bit more than most. I really wanted to be a Nolan Ryan/Roger Clemens type pitcher with the overpowering fastball, but I was much more of a location pitcher.
  6. As a right handed hitter, I agree, I preferred right handed pitchers. I remember a couple of lefties that had the big sweeping breaking balls that I had a particular difficult time hitting. As a right handed pitcher, I much preferred right handed hitters though...
  7. I was thinking I haven't seen anything from @mrflynn in awhile the other day. I saw Warrant is playing in Wabash, IN next week, so I will post this for him and hope he is doing well... https://www.honeywellarts.org/live-shows/warrant
  8. Cubs Win! They needed that one after giving away the first game in San Diego when they blew an 8-0 lead. If they win today, they will be back to .500 on road trip. On a side note, I am tired of the west coast start times...I went to bed after 6 innings last night....I am getting old.
  9. I forgot it was on Apple TV tonight 🫤
  10. I'm ready for some Cubs baseball tonight!
  11. That could be dangerous with all of us drinking free old styles for 3 hours. 🍻🤣
  12. I'll meet you three at Wrigley if you can talk them into letting us sing it and get free tix!
  13. Bob Odenkirk from Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul.
  14. Cubs win 8-1 after the 2 hour 51 minute rain delay. Took 2/3 from Dodgers and are now 6-3 on the season. Onto San Diego!!
  15. Cubs in rain delay in bottom of 4th with Cubs up 6-0. Dodgers crying about playing in the rain after they are down big.
  16. Not a gambler, just a hunch based off how good UCONN has looked. I think UCONN's defense will give pu fits. Whether it is 20 point win or not, I am not expecting a close game.
  17. I am picking UCONN by 20+ in this one. Unless they have an off game and purdue has a tremendous game, I just don't see UCONN losing, or even a close game. 88-67 UCONN.
  18. Cubs 5 game winning streak is over. Dodgers beat Cubs 4-1 today. Cubs wasted golden opportunity in the first with bases loaded nobody out and didn't score. Hopefully Cubbies win the rubber game tomorrow.
  19. Nico had an incredible defensive play earlier in the game. This might be the most patient Cubs hitting team I have seen in awhile. Really refreshing to see that. I am enjoying that Marquee streaming (I would have went with MLB stream but I'm blacked out). I work from home on Monday, Thursday and Fridays, so I can have the game on in the background! 😀
  20. Yeah it sounded like a shot coming off the bat. The Cubs pen is making me uncomfortable the past couple games for sure. Cubs infield had some nice plays defensively today...it didn't hurt that Morel wasn't playing 3rd!
  21. 5 straight for the Cubbies! Love to see them take down the Dodgers. 5-2 overall on year.
  22. Definitely hope Flus improves this year. He needs to be calling the defense from the start and no more giving away games in the 4th quarter. i am impressed with poles thus far. He had the big mistake with giving up a second round pick to Pittsburgh for a worthless receiver but that is his only huge mistake so far (we’ll see about Flus this year). The NFC north might be one of the top divisions in football if the Bears take that next step with Caleb and good defense. Packers and Detroit are both good and Minnesota will probably be a mediocre team.
  23. It’s not so much of the surprise factor but it moves the needle from around the combine time/post Justin fields trade when it seemed the Bears were “almost certainly” going to take Caleb Williams with the #1 pick, to now that he visited the Bears and won’t go to another team it seems to be the Bears are “100%” taking him #1. Caleb didn’t do his medicals at the combine, which means with him not going anywhere else to visit, the Bears are the only team that has them. Bears must have told Caleb they are taking him with the first pick or it would have been in his best interest and the Bears if he visited Washington/New England if there was a chance they were going to trade down for a different QB. I believe Caleb said he was planning on visiting Washington at the combine as well. I’m ready for the draft! Bear down!!
