Yeah it sounded like a shot coming off the bat. The Cubs pen is making me uncomfortable the past couple games for sure. Cubs infield had some nice plays defensively today...it didn't hurt that Morel wasn't playing 3rd!

Definitely hope Flus improves this year. He needs to be calling the defense from the start and no more giving away games in the 4th quarter. i am impressed with poles thus far. He had the big mistake with giving up a second round pick to Pittsburgh for a worthless receiver but that is his only huge mistake so far (we’ll see about Flus this year). The NFC north might be one of the top divisions in football if the Bears take that next step with Caleb and good defense. Packers and Detroit are both good and Minnesota will probably be a mediocre team.

It’s not so much of the surprise factor but it moves the needle from around the combine time/post Justin fields trade when it seemed the Bears were “almost certainly” going to take Caleb Williams with the #1 pick, to now that he visited the Bears and won’t go to another team it seems to be the Bears are “100%” taking him #1. Caleb didn’t do his medicals at the combine, which means with him not going anywhere else to visit, the Bears are the only team that has them. Bears must have told Caleb they are taking him with the first pick or it would have been in his best interest and the Bears if he visited Washington/New England if there was a chance they were going to trade down for a different QB. I believe Caleb said he was planning on visiting Washington at the combine as well. I’m ready for the draft! Bear down!!

Cubs win 9-8 and sweep Rockies. a few thoughts after watching a good amount of the cubs first 6 games thus far… Really like the cubs are drawing lots of walks and striking out very little. brown looked good in his start today. Good stuff but they pulled him after 52 pitches. rockies pitching is going to give up a ton of runs at coors field this year if they gave up all these runs this series against the cubs at wrigley in cold/wet conditions. Cubs defense has been poor. Morel with 3 errors in 6 games at 3rd base. starting pitching has been good with exception of Steele getting injured opening day and Hendricks struggling. Bullpen has been sketchy overall. lets go cubs! Hoping for a good series against the dodgers starting Friday!

Cubs win 12-2 over Rockies to make it 3 straight and 3-2 overall. I think they had 4 homers today…bellinger got a shot off the scoreboard and cooper was a single shy of the cycle. Assad had good start with 6 shutout innings. Hoping for a sweep tomorrow! Go cubs go!!

I purchased that Marquee sports network Cubs stream for 19.99. So far it has been fine. Figured I would update in case anyone else is thinking about purchasing.

He looked great today. I watched most of the game. It didn't hurt it was a cold day at Wrigley with wind blowing in, but still...shutout, no hitter into the 6th inning. It is hard to watch Morel play 3rd...I would like him much better as DH. Good guys win...2-2 record now. Go Cubs Go!!

I tip my hat to the ladies team/coach. They played with tons of heart and effort and should hold their heads up high. Proud of them.

Do any Cub fans here use Marquee app/streaming to watch the games? It is $20 a month and if you are in the Cubs service area or whatever you can buy it directly to watch the games. I just wonder if it is any good and if they show all the regular season games. I am blacked out of Cubs games with MLB streaming and thought about using a VPN as a way around that, but figured I would inquire about this first. Thanks.

I think May will do great at Michigan....and I think he would have killed it at IU.

I think Odunze is really good as well. I would he happy with either of the two and we would be stacked at receiver.

I have heard some talking heads claiming that some NFL teams ranking Nabors higher than Harrison. Not sure if that is true or not, but I do think it may be more of a 1A/1B situation than a few months back. I would take Harrison over Nabors if given the opportunity but I am adamant that the Bears should take Nabors or Odunze if they fall to 9. I love the addition of Keenan but he is getting up there in age and would be a great mentor for a young receiver.

Agree with this! I will not be happy if one of those two receivers are available at 9 and Poles trades down.

It pains me to admit this, but if I were a high level D1 player coming out of high school this year, I would go to Purdue and play for Painter over IU/Woodson...no question...and I say that as a kid who grew up rooting for IU.

I figured Justin was going to be traded any day, but I did think for a 3rd-4th round pick this year. Welcome to Chicago Caleb Williams!
