KoB2011
We've never had a thread like this, but figured it would be cool to have a thread to post pictures of food that we personally have made and to possibly share recipes.

Leathernecks
There's a lot in this post, so hopefully it works fine. Posting pictures here is much easier, just wish I could/knew how to resize pics. I have recipes for a handful of these things if anybody wants them. Great thread idea! Scallops with fried rice and yum yum sauce Eggs benedict Pork carnitas Shrimp po boy Shrimp tempura sushi Spaghetti (all homemade) Some kind of taco Mushroom and ricotta stuffed ravioli with white wine and cream sauce Pesto pizza Peanut butter pie Mushroom risotto Creme brulee Chicken, chorizo, rice, queso cheese Cheescake brownie French toast Pepperjack stuffed burger with mushroom and egg on top

Leathernecks
As evidenced by all the pictures, I'm clearly trying to eat healthy so I was cutting back. Usually I smother my fries with bacon grease. This diet is killing me.

Coach1K
My aunt's recipe: Chocolate Cake 1 3/4 cups flour 2 cups sugar 3/4 cup Hershey’s cocoa 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 2 eggs (beaten) 1 cup milk 1/2 cup of vegetable oil 2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup boiling water Combine all dry ingredients in large mixing bowl. Add beaten eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Slowly add boiling water. The cake mixture will be thin. Pour into greased and floured 13x9 pan. Bake At 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out dry. Carmel Icing 1 1/2 sticks butter ( not margarine) 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar (I use Dominos light brown sugar) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 6 tablespoons evaporated milk 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar Melt butter in saucepan, add brown sugar. Stir on medium heat. It should bubble for 2 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add evaporated milk. Stir until blended. Cool. Add powdered sugar beating with a mixer 1/2 cup at a time. Add vanilla extract. Blend together. Should be able to pour onto cake. Good luck this always is the hardest part for me.

Leathernecks
I don't have any pictures of these things, but in my experience, here's the best: Jalapeno poppers - I guarantee they'll be the best you've ever had. Do them on a smoker if you have one. Crank the heat and put them on a rack with some foil underneath to catch the drippings. I just lay a piece of bacon on top instead of wrapping around. Cinnamon rolls - make sure to put in plenty of filling. Any extra will melt down and make a delicious bottom to your roll. If struggling to cut, put the log in the fridge overnight and then cut them in the morning. Cinnamon roll icing Chicken cordon bleu - read the comments for some useful tips. Pizza sauce - crush the fennel a little bit in a mortar and pestle or spice grinder, but not very fine. Add a little anchovy paste for a little salt and to give it a much better flavor. Homemade pasta - you'll never eat packaged pasta again.

milehiiu
A great site, I found year's ago : Food Wishes Video Recipes What I love about this site is that not only does Chef John list the receipes. He also does a video which you can view for step by step instructions. Also has links to other fabulous sites. I have tried many of his dishes..... and they have always turned out great. One last thing...... Chef John has this thing about Cayenne. Trust me.... you can get along well without using Cayenne in everyone of his dishes, if heat is an issue for you.
