thirdgenhoosier
I never met him but he was a great coach. Sorry to see him go. Always found it odd how their TEs stood upright. Anyway, thoughts go out to Iowa tonight. Iowa memory. We upset them. I don’t remember when in the game this occurred but IU ran a fake punt with Brian DeWitz (I think it was him) that was fairly deep in our territory. Big key to that upset! milehiiu
I have told this story before on HSN. It was back when he was still coaching at Iowa. During one of our family trips to Cancun. He got on the same plane as us, here in Denver. I recognized him. But did not get a chance to say anything to him. Then on the return trip home, much to my surprise, he got on the same plane again. This time, I was able to wish him well on the upcoming season. He smiled and said thanks. Rest in peace, coach.

Billingsley99
I really tried to get our high school team to paint visitor locker room pink and crank up the heat but could not convince them to do it. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/college-football/2017/9/23/16320460/iowa-hawkeyes-pink-locker-rooms&ved=2ahUKEwirtsKEm7_mAhVJgK0KHVt_AkIQFjAFegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw2i9xhIdV5W8Hw65wL33gVV&cf=
Seeking6
I would have to go look it up sometime but in early 80's there was a photo of Iowa staff. Besides him I think Snyder, Ferentz, Alvarez, Bob Stoops and a few others all on one staff. RIP Coach Fry.
