Planted a few things

Having graduate from CHS in 1982, and played against Steve prior to the '83 championship year, we most certainly didn't slow it down against New Castle. In that '83, we won 70-57 with Steve scoring 37. They had nothing else. As a side note, I believe Steve said that if they placed us 10 times, they'd win 7. I guess that would mean they would win the next seven, since he lost all three times we played him, and wore them out every game.

Despite being a former Boiler, Drew Brees was one of my favorite NFL players. The NFL will miss him, but the time was right.

LeVert back for Pacers. Another dynamic playmaker. Their schedule is very tough but if they can string some runs together they’ll be right back in it as a top 4 seed. Add Warren once he’s healthy and watch out.

Barnhizer is gonna be a stud at NW. Might be able to help save Collins’s job.

Maybe 2 or 3 turnovers in the 4th, and certainly several missed 1 on 1 foul shouts. Mainly, though, it was a case of both teams taking 45+ seconds each possession before attempting to make any type of offensive move. SC really did just get away from what they do best. Connersville deserves some credit for that, but SC did not make much of an effort to speed things up.

Silver Creek wins a slugfest 31-30. Connersville had the blueprint for beating SC with the tempo. And, SC missed some big free throws down the stretch, but as Connersville was holding for a last shot at the end of the game, SC deflected the ball with 2 seconds left and Connersville never got off a shot.

Dont drink anymore but when I did would pick up a single or two on the way to brown county. Great campfire beer. If you can find Upland Oktoberfest this fall give that a try. If not, heck I'll mail you some.

I like it. It is pretty sweet, nice oaky finish, good bourbon and coconut. It’s pretty smooth for 9% but still warms you up a little. I’d get it again.

Didn't weigh them, but they were both 17-18 inches, so I'd guess 3 pounds each.

I think my brain has been programmed to watch missed shots....but both games yesterday between Carmel/Homestead and Lafayette Jeff had plenty of kids making shots. No clue what final stats were but I found myself really enjoying watching both games. Good play by all teams and like I said a joy to watch shots going up and in routinely. Free throws too.

It was a good dunk, but what about that kid that took the charge. Now there is a team player for you. A lot of fundamental teaching went into that play. I commend the coach and the kid.

Yep. Need to keep it up. Would be awesome to get a win on Monday and then have MIchigan and Ohio State tie.

This thread has been helpful in figuring out how old some of you fogies are.

Henry it is about 7 miles south of New Castle. I lived in a small town that was in the NW corner of rush county about 5 miles from Knightstown which is where I went to high school.

I use to live about 10 miles from where Marin Pierce went to school

SC actually only attempted 1 field goal the entire 4th quarter and missed it. Scored 1 point in the 4th. Also missed a slew of free throws. It was almost like SC conceded tempo to Connersville from the opening tip. And, then went out and had a horrid shooting game. In a fast paced game, SC can make up for poor shooting by dominating the boards and turning thed other team over. With pace this slow, that does not work.

Brooks barnhizer had One of the best seasons I can remember ....I think he finished 2 or 3 behind brown for the scoring title but brown gets one more game. Unless the kid from kouts ( wireman ) really fills it up that makes brown second in state history to lead the state 3 years ( the other being Marion pierce )

D2 Indiana news: After blowing an 8 point and going down by 3 for the final 4 minutes, USI (62-60 W) survives against Lewis University and advances to face Michigan Tech tomorrow (R32). Pivotal win and first tournament win at USI for Coach Stan Gouard. As it was a heated one between the USI Assistant Coach and Lewis Head Coach.

Carmel 50-49 final Carmel git a couple of breaks. Jeff up 1 missed the front end of 1-1 and Jeff was called for a foul with 17 seconds left that looked like a jump ball and Carmel hits both free throws.

Wow. Carmel wins by 1 over Lafayette Jeff 50-49. LJ gave the ball to Barnhizer and just didn't finish finding a teammate. Really, really good game.

That is a beautiful drive in the fall. Clear on the other hand... The best part of the back roads from down here is there is usually some other game day traffic to stick with. I’ve gone pretty quick just to keep up.

Wasn't sure which thread to put this one in. According to Brett McMurphy Nebraska is trying to get out of their game vs Oklahoma this season. Was supposed to be 50th anniversary of the game of the century stuff. Sounds like Frost is trying to get an easy W at home instead. I'll never stop piling on Nebraska. This is just weak.

Pork Shoulder anyone?

Right now the Pacers would be picking in the lottery if the season ended today. Levert is supposed to be back after the all star break and I think that will help the Pacers but if it takes much time for him to get acclimated then I'd start moving some expiring contracts and load up on draft capital for this years draft. With the Pacers 3 second round picks already they could probably move all of those already for a second first round pick at the end of the first if they wanted to and that's without selling off anything else.
