  1. It's sad I don't feel like we're in the driver seat when competing over a recruit agianst Baylor and Villanova. Not that they're not good programs, but just how far we've fallen...and fallen for a LONG time. We pretty much sucked for 20+ years except a few bright spots, so for kids in high schools these days, IU is not a good basketball school.

Edit: I missed 'not' in the sentence. Villanova and Baylor are indeed good programs. Jay Wright already won 2 and currently in FF. Scott Drew revived a dead program and won it all last year.

I hate it when Dan and I are on the same side.  Makes me question my sanity lol.

I read all DD's tweets on this issue and have to say I agree with him as well. CMW is the man and can hire/fire anyone. That's no problem, but DD's point was (if I read between the lines)... just don't use the word 'brotherhood' or 'family' if you're going to (borderline) humiliate a fellow Hoosier in public.

  3. I was shocked and needed some time to digest the whole thing. People get hired and fired all the time, so if they didn't mesh well, Dane's gotta go. That's not really a big deal. Dane will get another job soon.

But what I didn't feel comfortable was the way CMW announced it. In general, it's a courtesy that company (or the boss) announces a separation as 'mutually consented' or 'the person's leaving for the best interest for all parties' even when people know the person was fired. But Woodson pretty much said Dane wasn't leaving on his own or by a mutual consent, but he fired Dane. If Dane was just any other coach, I would be like 'whatever', but Dane is one of our own. I get it. They didn't and couldn't get along well with each other, but CMW should've been a bigger person than that and showed a little more courtesy on Dane's way out IF CMW truly believed 'Indiana Hoosiers' was a family thing.

  4. Feel really bad about this upcoming game. The ass kicking we got at home was quite demoralizing. I felt it wasn't just because our team wasn't ready or hustling enough; our players looked like they had no idea how to defend UM's ball movement and shot creations. Maybe style-wise, just a real bad matchup. Or UM played a near perfect game in SSAH. We'll see.

Really wished we'd make it to the NCAAT in CMW's first year, but we'll most likely settle at NIT. Worse thing is I can't think we'd have a better season next year with possible roster turnovers. Really hard to get a good momentum for the program.

    I’ll ask the question:

You are Mike Woodson… This off-season do you blow the roster up (Crean them) and restart with a whole new crew or run it back 1 more year with basically the same results then maybe sneak in.

I think a few guys may need to go and a few will graduate or go pro. Then, it would automatically be a roster blow-up. It's necessary. I think a guy like CMW wouldn't worry about it too much because he's here for the long haul and is building a sustainable culture. This season is a bit disappointing, and I'm seriously losing my faith in IU basketball; I feel like all the emotional beat-ups over the last 2 decades finally took a toll on me. Part of me still don't and can't understand why IU basketball is so cursed, but reality is reality. This program should be built from the ground up again.

  6. When we thought we were at cloud 9, we fell hard all the way to the ground. Back to reality.

Meaning that this team's got some good potential, but the defensive game plan and preparation has to be impeccable. It looked like our players were nowhere close to defend UM's shooters and their crisp ball movements. Our guys were flying all over the place for nothing. Of course, UM had a heck of a game, making 11 of 17 3-point shots.

They are not going to be able to keep every BIG team under 60, that's just not going to happen. Meaning if they have to do that every game, they aren't going to win many more games.

Agree with you. It's more of a wishful thinking. And it's not easy for all conditions to happen in a game. Keeping the other team under 60 wouldn't do much good if TJD has an off night. And yes I'm not expecting this team would win many games in BIG.
