  1. What a nice surprise!

    This game is a perfect example how this team would need to play moving forward.

    • Play tough defense every posession because our offense sucks
    • TJD has to bring it offensively every night
    • Keep the opponent under 60 points/game; otherwise, we pretty much lose

    And the coaching staff needs to continue to groom X Johnson.

  2. Glad that we got a W. This is one of those must wins. Winning this game doesn't pad our resume that much, but if we lost, it would look really bad. Soon heading into the Big 10 gauntlet, I'm lowering my expectation a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if we would get .500 in Big 10 and be one of those  bubble teams in March. Of course anything can happen.

  3. Certainly preseason injury news doesn't give me warm and fuzzy feelings, and I'm a bit concerned too. But at the same time, I feel fortunate none of our guys suffered serious injuries. I see once every week or so so-and-so sustained a season ending injury during scrimmage. I'm sure the coaching staff wants players to go hard in practices to maximize learnings, but also they're closely watching players' overall health and conditioning level. I like to trust our coaching staff; I think we got a really good team of coaches.

    I can agree if you are taking all aspects of the program into account, but maybe Sampson is a better coach on the court?

    I thought about Sampson too, and certainly he's a proven coach. He was just not the right man for a school like IU. Also it's fair to ask the question whether he's the right leader and mentor for young men. Woodson, on the other hand, is known as a man of high character and well-respected and understands what basketball means to IU. While he wasn't some legendary NBA coach, he improved his teams wherever he coached. I think his coaching can be more than 'good' at the collegiate level. We'll find out in a few months.

  5. We're finally ready to travel the road we never did before. That is to hire a former Hoosier and let him instill Hoosier pride in those young players. It's regrettable IU had to wait this long to make it happen, but it's way better late than never. Jury's still out, but I gotta say I'm more than optimistic. Coach Woodson is probably the best coach we've had since the departure of Coach Knight.

    I don’t know man. As much as I hate UK,  (and I mean HATE), I can’t say I agree.

    Duke

    @Notre Dame

    Ohio St

    Louisville

    @Kansas

    Definitely better than our non-conf. Our SOS will eventually be better playing in the Big10, but we don’t have near the quality non-conf they do.

    After reading the article, that was my impression as well. UK will have enough marquee matchups in non-conference. Replacing Michigan with High Point...well that's bit of a weak-a$$ move but their non-conf schedule is still tough.

    With that said, I just had to laugh at the UK beat writer's comment that UK fans can have undivided attention on UK football game on that day for SEC championship game.

    He gave 4 years of his life.

    Everything you said made sense to me even though I didn't fully agree with you, but this sentence was just flat out wrong. He took this job for his own benefit and success. He didn't take this job because he loved IU. He was indifferent. If you said this for Tom Crean, though he wasn't my favorite IU coach, I would've agreed. Sure Crean took this job for his own success too, but at least he tried to embrace 'Indiana'. Archie didn't.
