How do we know the second team won’t either? We don’t know if the first team struggles with the other teams best. If that’s the case the second team would too. Everything is still speculation. My guess is Woody knows what he’s doing.

Keep in mind our class rankings and individual rankings look great. Just one problem is we have no wings that can make plays individually. We don’t have a guy that can just get a bucket night in night out. That’s what we are missing. We don’t have any 4s that can shoot either. Most Teams in the B1G do. Really hurts us.

Fair point. We can beat Wisconsin though. We actually match up better with teams like them than Michigan and Iowa.

That’s an emotional take. Typical for many Hoosier fans. Woodson understands the limits of his roster unlike you. By all means email him. Every team in the B1G is capable of beating any team on any given day/night. Always has been this way. Most rankings put us at 7th so me saying 5th to 7th is actually giving them credit. You guys should too.

Matchups matter. Woody knows this. For the majority of games Miller and Kopp fit the game. Woody even says this after a few dumb questions from fans and reporters. Give him a season or two. Very flawed roster that overall isn’t playing terrible.

Probably pretty close. I’m not sure why people are so upset. We clearly have a better coaching staff that understands we aren’t going to contend for anything. I’m not sure what’s changed.( in the minds of fans) we are a 5th to 7th place B1G team just off the bubble and we are playing that way with a few hiccups and upsets. We are fine.

Problem with some of these bench players is sample size and the article mentions that. Is it they are better than the opposing teams second string? There is definitely an offense lineup and a defense lineup.

I think Archie wanted to run a more modern offense he just didn’t get the right guys so he caved to try and win. If his guys would’ve hit their free throws he would still be here a few more years. Think about that one. Probably a 20 win bubble team every other year driving us crazy.

You must not watch much basketball or comprehend it today. The true motion years are over. Knights motion was designed to not only be efficient but to make you work on defense. The 30 second shot clock with a 20 second reset has changed that. We went from symphony’s to speed metal.

With the athletes on the floor today it’s hard to get everything off of just screens. Good teams switch rather effectively. That’s why we see hand offs and dribble drive. Draw defenders is more effective than just screening 3-4 times to get a guy open.

I agree on every point. I’m just pointing out the classic knight run one shooter off ten screens(exaggerating) classic motion won’t be used. Lots of motion concepts(tons of them) are still used. Woody will use some. He is building an offense that will be what kids want to play in.

Well, from what I know their is no correlation with bulk and quickness. At least some trainers agree. I want guys who can bang.

Reason they play together early is to hopefully open up the inside. Get the paint going first. Keeps the D honest early. Neither one need to prove they can shoot. Trey can’t…Phin can but he’s 29% so far. That’s why they start. Plus they play pretty good defense.

Shot clock used to be 45. Also when it resets now it only goes to 20. You absolutely can’t run a knight style motion. It’s all about individual matchups today. The dribble drive took over because of this. It works. You just have to get the right personnel

He will play both for us. He plays the 4 right now because he can. He’s actually out of position and it shows. He can do everything Smith could and shoot. He’s going to be great once we get a better lineup at the 4.

He runs plays for him and Kopp out of timeouts a lot. He can’t do it all game as they always adjust. We got Michigan on 3 in a row. 2 for Stewert and 1 for Kopp. Kopp hit all his open shots. Just didn’t have many. They both are catch and shoot players. Although Kopp can get by his guy some.

Nope. Look at the catch and shoot (assisted 3)stat. He’s actually not horrible. 75%. It’s when he has to force it up. That’s when it gets bad. He will take open looks moving forward.

It absolutely is. Archie had zero film on stretch 4s. It hurt his recruiting. Bad enough a couple even stated it. We missed on a ton of them. Still paying for it too.

Something else. You ever wonder why race has been taking threes? Imagine how different the Michigan game would be if we had a 4 that could hit threes. Woody knows how important that is. Race has the green light.

This isn’t true. This isn’t a true motion offense. Those take to long to develop. He ran 4-5 plays for Parker and he hit all but one. He ran a few more but Michigan adjusted. It’s actually funny when people start saying Parker and Kopp should move without the ball. They set up exactly where they are supposed to. They catch and shoot 3s at a very high percentage clip. Problem is they are literally our best shooters. They get taken out of plays because they are the focus. They leave all our other “shooters” open. Wonder why? You won’t see anyone come off those two to double the post. Michigan went zone with Parker and Kopp out of the game too. Why? Because they are our only consistent shooters.
