  1. Pretty interesting (from 2016)...

In total, since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985, 22 of the 32 tournaments have seen two teams from the same conference reach the Final Four.

This is an event that’s success has been based on its wild unpredictability, and yet in nearly 70 percent of the tournaments in the last 32 years, one conference has put two teams in the Final Four.

Ok, Thank you, that still seems high though.

Agreed. For reference we averaged 11.9/game last year for 266th in the nation. My guess is since we averaged that last year he's allowing them to have that many before they run and if they have less than 12 they are working towards an improvement over last year.

Just looked at the play by play and the backcourt turnover was given to Lander. That's crap. It was a terrible pass from Race.

Guessing officially has to be credited to Lander because he picked the ball up in the backcourt resulting in the over and back call. If he let it go out of bounds or get picked up by Cuse, then the scorer could choose to credit it to Race or Lander.

Who should decide it then? There’s no reasonable way for coaches to do it for a national award.

I've always felt the media (tied to a specific school), coaches, and/or some appointed member from the school should vote from a pool of opponent players. Feel like rankings should be done this way as well. Doesn't make sense to me to have voting for/against and/or ranking players/schools they have no connection/clue about.

Fans are funny.  Both of Robs 3 point looks looked money, just didn't drop.  If that first one goes down, which he has to start making wide open threes, the roof literally explodes off the building.  His one two point attempt, again, has to make the shot.  Him, Kopp, and Stewart are keys to the height of the ceiling of this team.  If the three of them click offensively, the ceiling is removed.

Rob's first half defense was stellar.  Thats as much reason he plays first and above Lander.  And yes Lander needs more run.  He's been solid.

Anyone else feel slightly uncomfortable with Kopp taking 10 shots?  Those first 10 minutes or so of the 2nd half, seemed like Kopp missed about 4 straight.

Also felt like Stewart sat too long in the 2nd half.  Not sure his foul situation but man I want him on the floor.  Great defense.  Just mature with the ball.

When I worked on the PGA Tour we played the pro-am with Bill Russell in Miami one year. Spent 6 hours with the guy and at the end I asked him for an autograph. He said No you'll just put it on ebay. I said you played against shoe sales men, you arent worth that kind of trouble. Tommy John did the same thing. The Pro I was working for had me get a couple of baseballs for him to sign. He said, after spending the day with him, send them to the Yankees, I only sign things through them. I threw the balls in the trash and said I dont want it that f'ing bad. Tommy then asked the pro I was working for to sign the group photo from the Pro-Am. My guy told him your nuts are bigger than the balls my man threw in the trash then he walked away. Was never more proud of him.lol.

I never understood why someone wouldn't take the 10 seconds to sign something b/c "you'll just put it on ebay" in these types of situations. You spent 6hrs with the dude before asking, only asked for an autograph (not like you were carrying around multiple jerseys or basketballs to sign) and does he really care that much if you kept it, made a shrine with it, or sold it for a little bit of $.

Props to you and your Pro.

    I loved this part...

IU's first-round assignment was to Texas Tech, where Knight was to coach later. Woodson (11-for-14, 30 points) led an early blitz and this time had help in a 78-59 romp. A Lubbock writer asked Knight if Woodson was "just on a hot streak." The response: "He has averaged 20 points a game for 90 games now. That's a hell of a streak."

  8. Big move up for this kid. Wasn't there some connection between him and Gabe Cupps?

Sheppard — a 6-foot-3 combo guard from North Laurel High School and the son of two former UK basketball standouts — moved from No. 62 to No. 17 nationally in the latest class of 2023 rankings from 247Sports, which updated its list Wednesday afternoon.
