  1. Once he locks on he’s pretty good. Definitely needs more bend and lateral quickness. You know what they say…you can’t teach big!
  2. We don't see very many 6'7 guards, but that's a fair point.
  3. Noblesville runs a funky offense (football in a phone booth) and the OL is not asked to pass block. Rumor is the offense is going to change next year. He lined up at TE this year next to a kid who is going to a MAC school. Personally, I'd wait until I see what he can do in a traditional offense as an OT.
  4. I hate it when PU plays because it never fails that the person who must defend all things Purdue is guaranteed to show up and argue with people.
  5. I think you’re misunderstanding what I’m trying to say. Not worth it…
  6. I guess I didn’t view anything that has been said as negative. Nobody said he isn’t good. I think the one poster was just saying that fans should slow down. I didn’t see anything negative directed at the player.
  7. I like your use of the word piece there. The kid has tools and a great background but I also think it’s ok to be a little cautious as a fan.
  8. I’d like to nominate this for post of the decade. Time to lock this thread.
  9. Question for those that know more than I do. In the off-season there was some chatter about Geronimo learning to play the 3. And he has been kinda disappointing so far this year. Yet he played great today by doing what he did at the end of the year last year. Crashing the class and playing more of a four. Is this a fair observation?
  10. I agree with this, but that may have been as hard as I have seen him work on defense. Many of you know more about hoops than I do so did I imagine that and am just happy about the win or is there agreement?
  11. I've been hesitant to put this out there because it is only the opinion of a couple of guys I know. He's very raw. A couple of coaches that I know (who compete against CG) in the Indy area kinda compared him to McCulley....checks a lot of boxes as far as physical tools go, but isn't ready to play yet. They were shocked he went to UT in the first place. So, while I'd be happy to get him, he needs a lot of coaching and I hope we still bring in Nolan or someone else to give him some time. Just a couple of opinions and I'm certain there are others who feel differently of course. I should add that this goes back to when he committed (and CG runs an entirely different system than colleges do), so hopefully, the UT staff coached him up well!! I'd love to hear some other opinions from those in the coaching scene.
  12. Honestly? I'm not there so I don't know. Just passing on what I have heard. However, that clip doesn't completely discredit what I said. They work together. "He literally calls the plays in there". What does "in there mean"? Do I think Reid would lie? I don't know. But do I think he'd put the best spin on it possible to help EB get a job? Absolutely. But maybe what I've heard is wrong. Even if it is, there have to be reasons EB hasn't gotten a job by now and keeps getting passed over.
  13. 5. He is a terrible interviewer (or so I have heard) 6. Not only is he not the play caller, but Reid does all of the OC duties. EB is OC in title only.
  14. I’d add that Wisconsin’s scheme didn’t exactly allow him to show what he could do in the passing game.
  15. Agree. I don’t know what is so complicated. He has shown he can be utilized in the passing game but the Colts don’t use him that much. I wish they did because I believe he has that skill set.
  16. All of that and more transfers are in the transfer portal thread. Just an FYI.
  17. I answered your QB question. Go back and read. I said I honestly didn’t know. If you want a different answer, at this point I’d pick Stroud or Young if they are available, but I’m not convinced either is “the guy”. Unlike you, I’ll admit when I am uncertain. But since you have all of the answers I’ll just sit back and read your words of wisdom from here on.
  18. While that’s true, that also wasn’t my point.
  19. I knew you’d bite on that. Regardless, that has nothing to do with my comment. If you can guarantee that either Young or Stroud will make it then maybe you need to get off message boards and go work for an NFL team.
  20. That’s a good point. Despite what some on here want to think, it’s possible Carr is better than anyone in this draft. But I’m in agreement that if the top two QBs are taken and one of those generational guys on defense falls to the Colts I’m ok with that. Go get a QB in round two.
  21. Honestly? I don’t know. I have concerns about Young and Stroud and things I really like. But I’m also not a scout and know the majority of first round picks of QBs are busts so I don’t think it’s just that easy to find that right guy. Clearly the Colts need to go a different direction at QB though.
  22. Meh. Maybe. I wasn’t commenting on Carr. But the Jags will also have to play a much tougher schedule next year. But I don’t see an 11 win team yet.
  23. I think I remember seeing scouts have him as a round 6-ish type of guy.
