Yep. And he has also hit on some guys in round two notably Leonard, Taylor, Pittman, and, yes, Braden Smith. And yes, Smith has had a down year this year. No question. But he has been great in the years prior to this one. No GM is perfect. Ballard certainly hasn’t been. And just so I’m clear so you don’t misunderstand. I’m not making excuses or saying I think he should be retained. I’m honestly on the fence there. I think you need to move on. The season is over and you’ve stated multiple times on Ballard missing on these guys. You’ve made your point.

I think he was giving Daniel Jones as an example. That if the Colts had someone like him they would at least be as good as those other two teams.

Couldn't agree more. The Colts are a long way from being a contender, but they aren't that far behind the Jags and Titans, especially when everyone seems to agree that the QB play has been awful.

So the Colts give up two good players and we flip the first for the fifth pick. Hell no. Moving up 4 spots is definitely not worth that. I wouldn’t give you Buckner and Kelly just to move up 4 spots.

Isn’t it also fair to acknowledge that we don’t really know what the NFL communicated? We had one TV reporter say that players were given five minutes. But we don’t know if that came from the league office. It may have come from game officials. It might have even been reported inaccurately and was missing some context.

I’ve read that if a person takes a hit to the chest at just the right time it can trigger a heart attack. Read a story about a hockey player this happened to. Can’t help but wonder if that’s what happened here. Of course I’m speculating.
