  1. And sadly we slipped into the Indiana offense that has 0.0% cohesion tonight. We have avoided this awful version of ourselves for a long stretch of games now, but we officially forgot how to play together as a team tonight. Not having Galloway hurts but still we forgot how to run pick and rolls at all or simply move the ball from side to side. It's first guy with a crappy shot just chuck it type of offense tonight. And though CJ Gunn just scored, he is the worst of the worst of being a chucker, which is perplexing being that he has shot 32% from the field this year.

ill add that we got one shot in the first three minutes of the second half, which is were we lost the game. How can our coach honestly say this?

Well he's spot on about the defense but come on...he isn't owning how much that press affected us. I can't believe after the Auburn game that every team in't pressing us from beginning to end. Our guards simply aren't good enough to handle it, especially with Xavier out.

  3. Our guard play is just embarrassing. That's on the coaching staff. Not one of our guards is a game changer on either side of the court. You either have to recruit guards who can impact the game or develop the ones you have. Neither has happened for this team.

  4. Our perimeter is just awful on both sides of the court. Mbako/Galloway/Leal= 3/12 from deep and just miserable defense around the perimeter. Cupp has 2 points....0 assists...0 rebounds...and has been equally bad at guarding anybody. Maybe the worst due to his size. You just can't win in college basketball withough quality guard play. We just don't have it.

It’s his first game back. I see many glimpses of why we’ve missed his so bad. Nobody else on that team is going to execute that give and go like he did.

The reality is that Xavier Johnson hasn't played consistent ball in a long, long time. It's asking a lot to have him starting a Big Ten game after not being a consistent part of this team for good chunk of multiple seasons.

  6. Down 8 on the road not too bad considering we had 10 turnovers (4 by Johnson).....8 less free throws....and had Mgbako and Reneau on the bench on shady foul calls for too much of the half. Seems like Johnson needs to come off the bench until he gets into rhythm. If we limit turnovers and fouls, we can get back in this game quickly.

Ware's last bucket easily could have been an And 1.

I don't mind the no calls on our end. I have a bigger issues with the minor contact calls on their end. In general, refs needs to swallow their whistles and let these players get used to contact. Those chippy calls aren't happening in the Big Dance.
