  1. Just inexcusable officiating tonight. I’m so tired of the absolute lack of accountability for BigTen refs.
  2. The same amount of times our defenders leave their feet without going vertical.
  3. And a full time therapist, on staff
  4. I’d love to see him take more than 1.5 shots per game. Anything to pull the defense out of the paint
  5. True fans will say this is elite effort and decision making on both sides of the ball, and should be celebrated
  6. Notice he said nothing about keeping them off the foul line.
  7. Taking a lot of really bad shots in the paint is a big reason. They need to be more patient with the ball
  8. MLB model would allow generational phenoms to go pro out of high school. The rest spend 3 years in college. Everyone wins…Colleges keep their stars, kids actually develop while making real money, NBA owners can draft proven talent (rather than taking fliers on 19 year old projects) who are ready day one instead of paying $4M a year hoping they actually pan out.
  9. Pretty wild that NBA teams continue to shell out lottery pick level cash just to send kids to the D league, instead of adopting an MLB style draft system.
  10. Tough to be excited for the future after that ceremony. Just a really tough look for the program. Time and winning heals all wounds. Going out in public and complaining about fan reactions to losses is pouring salt in them. There was just nothing to gain by those comments and tells potential recruits everything they need to know about the health and stability of the program.
  11. If true, I assume this has been shared with Dolson and the succession planning is underway? Makes sense as to why the admin would shoot down any rumors that we’re moving on at seasons end. Also gives Dolson plenty of time to lock down a replacement well in advance, while saving IU Woody’s $14M buyout.
  12. There’s always a couple of upperclassmen guys who play their way into the draft. It is less common to materially improve status but that’s probably more to do with guys being insanely inpatient and unwilling to invest in another year. I think Ware is unique in that he didn’t play much and didn’t play well when he was a freshman. As a sophomore he hasn’t shown he’s an “NBA level talent” when he’s played against capable centers with NBA potential. He played great last night against a couple of under sized post players but NBA scouts (if they’re worth TP they wipe their butts with) will see his performances against PU, OSU, Kansas, Auburn, etc., and see the leap he needs to make to be effective at the next level. I think his 2024 draft potential will rely more heavily on the teams in the mid-late first round’s needs. If the teams with picks 16-30 don’t have a pressing need for a center, there’s no guarantee they’ll sign up for the project.
  13. Agreed but if he can get 2-3M from NIL a top 5 draft pick makes 4x what a mid upper half 1st rounder. Grab an insurance policy and come along for the ride. If it works he goes from $4M a year for 4 years to $16M a year
  14. Kids fall in the draft all the time. Best case he goes 18th-20th if he impresses at the combine and in team interviews. If he bombs those then who knows. He’s also got a guaranteed contract to come back via NIL. That said, I wouldn’t bet against you in that assertion.
  15. Call me crazy but I think Ware coming back has the potential to drastically improve his draft stock. Dude needs 20lbs of muscle and improved post defense against NBA caliber players. What’s the pay raise for s guy who goes from 20-30th to top 5?
  16. I donno man. It’s weird. All I can hope is that he’s just trying to speak it into existence. We won in spite of XJ, and to some degree Gallo, not because of them. Gallo at least put forth max effort although some of his turnovers were just unbelievable. Hard to come away from this feeling like we won the game vs Minny crapping the bed at the most opportune time
  17. Either Woody has completely lost the plot or he’s lost the team. Galloway standing at half court dribbling until 7 seconds on the shot clock? X basically doing the same thing after getting bailed out??? What am I watching? We’re 30 games into the season and I can’t tell you one “play” we run on offense except for the Gallo run-pass option with Ware. A team with an ounce of direction would be up 15 right now.
  18. I wish there was a stat kept for giving up a career night. This program would lead the nation by an insane margin
  19. It’s not a great look, but whatever. I googled Cig and he’s the best there ever is, was and ever will be…so it doesn’t really matter who we recruit.
  20. Coaches taking to twitter to brag about beating out MAC schools for the 21st ranked player in the state is wild. What a day to be a Hoosier, indeed. edit: if it’s referring to Parker, guess I just have to hope that’s a coincidence
  21. I don’t disagree. Gunn forced their hand to call it that. I just wish some context was allowed to be invoked there. It was a classic, “looked way worse than it was” act and I don’t believe his intent was to elbow him in the face. Also, his face had no business being where it was in the first place.
  22. Exactly. Can we stop pretending Gunn “elbowed him in the face”? Sure it was a dumb move on his part, only because it wasn’t going to cause harm to the other guy and with replay, he was going to get caught. That said, he couldn’t have been more gentle if he tried. The reaction by Wisconsin was pathetic and soft. Gard is the parent no one wants their kids to play with because he raises nothing but whiny b*tches who act like aholes and cry home to mommy and daddy because their fragile sensibilities were hurt. The refs had every opportunity to review, ascertain that it was in fact provoked, that no actual pain/harm was inflicted, and move on. The X criticism is well warranted
