  1. I guess I would look at Thad as more of a general manager
  2. I doubt it had to do with the University as much as the fishbowl that is IU basketball. Also coaches today can win and make big money anywhere so what is the insensitive to keep moving their families
  3. Guarantee they will be in every coaches meeting and film session and helping with game plans. Thad will probably be working on the schedule with Dolson. I would think he will help get visits set up and be in contact with High school and AAU coaches to set up meetings for the coach. He just can't go on the road to watch players in AAAU or high school.
  4. This is just 4 aAabama support staff and their titles and this does not include assistant coaches 2021 Football Support Staff Staff Directory Members By Category/Department NAME TITLE PHONE EMAIL ADDRESS Ellis Ponder Associate Athletics Director, Football Chief Operating Officer 205-348-3600 Todd Watson Special Assistant to Head Coach 205-348-3600 David Ballou Director of Sports Performance 205-348-3600 Matt Rhea Director of Sports Science 205-348-3600
  5. I gave you an example with the all time best college football coach of all time doing it. Alabama has brought in a lot of former HC as consultants which is made up positions. The more basketball minds you have to your disposal the better it is. In the NBA they have like 5 to 6 coaches who are on the bench every game.
  6. Only been here a year and brought in Parker Stewart
  7. Because it is a new position they just created for Thad and probably using some of that money from the donor to create this position. It allows them to have Thad on the staff without taking one of the assistant positions. I have no idea why anyone would be freaking out over something like this because it is a good thing. Also neither would be involved with recruiting at all or be going on the road to recruit.
  8. His job is just about men's basketball

Why would the best college football coach if all time need do much help on his staff
  10. Who said it is a home run hire. The more sets of eyes and brain trust the better. They will probably will be in all the coaches meetings and watching film. They will help come up with game plans on each team.
  11. Just saying neither Matta or Brown will be dealing with the players that much.
  12. SMH why not wait to see who will actually be on the staff as the assistant coaches
  13. I don't want him around the program. I would guess if he is in the Knicks orginization he might be done with helping college coaches
  14. Those two won't be a actually on the court coaching or go out recruiting. Woodson was on Brown's staff in Detroit and won a championship
  15. That was half way into year 4 of a coaches tenure and not a few hours after the hiring press conference
  16. To me these guys are brought in for things that are not on the court. The actual basketball stuff Woodson had under control. Basketball is basketball and if you can teach it in the NBA he will be able to do it in college
  17. Maybe they should form their own message board for whiners
  18. Nic Saban has brought in plenty of all star assistant s who were former head coaches
  19. Not just here bit all social media and the stuff out there is embarrassing. I don't want people to act so surprised or upset when the national people talk about how some of this fan base is bad
  20. That would make the world a lot better place to live LOL!
  21. What does going on social media and ripping the hire for everyone to see help the program
  22. Never said it was a great or home run hire but going to give him my support
  23. Every great coach out there had to have guys to help him. Phil Jackson took his assistant to each job to teach the triangle offense
