Why would the best college football coach if all time need do much help on his staff

Who said it is a home run hire. The more sets of eyes and brain trust the better. They will probably will be in all the coaches meetings and watching film. They will help come up with game plans on each team.

Just saying neither Matta or Brown will be dealing with the players that much.

I don't want him around the program. I would guess if he is in the Knicks orginization he might be done with helping college coaches

Those two won't be a actually on the court coaching or go out recruiting. Woodson was on Brown's staff in Detroit and won a championship

That was half way into year 4 of a coaches tenure and not a few hours after the hiring press conference

To me these guys are brought in for things that are not on the court. The actual basketball stuff Woodson had under control. Basketball is basketball and if you can teach it in the NBA he will be able to do it in college

Not just here bit all social media and the stuff out there is embarrassing. I don't want people to act so surprised or upset when the national people talk about how some of this fan base is bad

Every great coach out there had to have guys to help him. Phil Jackson took his assistant to each job to teach the triangle offense

That was after 4 years and not 2 hours after the press conference announcing the hire.

Do what you want but why not go in with an open mind and not judge a hire before game one had been played

To me build up the program is like building a house. The first thing you need is a solid foundation and to the basketball program that is the former players. If you just put your house on a cement slab or have a trailer on nothing that house will get knocked over when a huge wind comes up. With a solid foundation that house can take a huge storm and still come trough that storm.
