I don’t think Woody knows how to assemble a roster, and why would he ? NBA coaches don’t do that. He needs a GM. 
 

Just my unsolicited two cents.

Watching Indiana is like going to a funeral. There is zero excitement and enthusiasm. We need a coach that can not only build a roster, develop talent, instill discipline within the program and create excitement and energy. I never thought I would say this but a guy like Bruce Pearl would do that. It doesn't have to be Pearl but someone with that personality. Woodson and Dolson are like brothers from a different mother. Boring as hell with a personality of a cardboard box.

I didn't watch it. It was over before it started and as I have said many times I am sick and tired of garbage basketball and coaching.

We are the cellar dwellers of the league and have regressed to where Northwestern and Wisconsin were 30 years ago.

Dude can't be gone soon enough. The trouble is I don't think there is anyone at Indiana smart enough to hire the right person to get this program back to prominence both in the short term and long term.

Indiana just keeps the wheels spinning because we are stuck in the mud. Hopefully before I die someone there will figure out how to get us back on the right path.

  Give up on IU basketball if that's your character and you can't be there through the thick and thin. We all know plenty of those people, it's not unusual. Some fans have an asterisk.

Sorry but I agree with Steub. I have been an Indiana fan for over 60 years through thick and thin and not wanting to see trash basketball and coaching has nothing to do with character. That is a cheap shot and totally unwarranted. 
I happen to believe that this program deserves better than what we have given by an incompetent administration that has ruined what was once a blue blood program. I don't have 20 years left to wait for a winning program and my time is much more valuable than to waste it on the crap that was on display last night!

Well that sucks! Another couple of years of garbage coaching and results. As I said earlier, you think this year is bad wait until next year. With Ware, Mgbako, Walker, X and Leal gone and only one commitment you have a total rebuild coming. I don't see us getting Queen and I wouldn't be surprised to see Liam ask for his release.

I would bet Queen doesn't come for the reasons mentioned above. Woodson is going to drive Indiana right off the cliff and it will take a few years to recover from the mess. If I were a top talent I wouldn't give any consideration to playing for Indiana. Woodson sucks and in reality he won't be around in a couple of years.

I agree totally. Woodson is not the answer. And for the record I could give a rats butt if we hire an IU guy. Give me someone who can coach, develop, recruit, motivate and build a program.

He blamed Edey going off on not having TJD and Race.... two guys he didn't recruit.

We have more 15+ point losses in 2.5 years of Mike Woodson that we did in 4 years of Archie, or in the last 7 years of Tom Crean. 

We run a bad offensive scheme and a bad defensive scheme. We've been a bad rebounding team the entire time he's been here. He's stubborn and when he gets questioned he is frequently combative.

He's got two months to show why he shouldn't have an incredibly hot seat. 

Two more months of crap ball and coaching. I am getting to the point where I don't care. Same shi?, different day!

Like I have said before, you think this year is bad wait until next year!

Great move by  the coach. Get down by 20 and put the starters in. We are weak but Woodson sucks!

No problem. But I will say this, I have never been a Woodson fan from the minute the announcement was made he was the coach. I think he was a bottom of the barrel hire and I believe he will not lead us anywhere but to mediocrity. In my opinion he is Archie Miller 2.0.

I made reference to it after Nebraska about smart play and hard play and some disagreed with that  assessment but I stand behind it. This team might be the dumbest basketball group I have seen on the court ever at IU. Sampsons guys might not be book smart might have been druggies, criminals  etc... but had some basketball knowledge this group not a lick. Not since a 3rd grade game at the YMCA had I seen a player dribble pick up ball then dribble again until Walker last night. He shocked the ref and I just about fell off the couch. That was right after throwing a perfect pass into the back of a Rutgers player that led to a layup the other way. You cannot get outrebounded the way they did last night  and say that anyone is playing hard or smart.

The only differences that I see between the product that Archie put on the floor and what Woodson has on the floor now are:

1. The number of stars next to the players name is greater now.

2. Archies pack line defense gave up tons of wide open shots by design we just give them away now like door prizes.

 

10 years from now or maybe sooner well hell maybe even now. Coach Tom Crean is going to look like a genius and a hall of famer while at IU in comparison to everyone else. I could live with losing and the antics of Crean to watch those teams. I need a bottle of pepto some strong alcohol if a were a drinker and some type of speed if i did drugs to be able to watch this team game in an out. Boring unfundamental basketball at its best.  If you want to have fun watching college basketball and stay in state the product on the floor at ISU is much more entertaining. Not sure how but somehow they found players that can not only shoot but make shots and they play fairly smart.  Last night I watched until the under 12 timeout of the second half and in that time I saw more air ball 3's shot than 3's made by Indiana. It truly is hard to shoot an airball or at least for me it was.  

 

 

Great post. For me the quality of play and coaching is like the old saying, garbage in, garbage out. We suck!

Not possible! I hated the hire and quite frankly I hope we continue to play like crap so a change will be made.

Unfortunately I don't think there is anyone with enough common sense or brains to make the right hire.
