  1. I'd love to see even an ounce of that enthusiasm from IU's players. Our players walk out onto the court like zombies for the tip.
  2. This might not have anything to do with Holtman, might just be the kid's nature or it could be the atmosphere Holtman has created, but I watched the beginning of their game during last week and their guard, Jackson I think, was jumping up and down after the lineup announcements and ran up and down the bench hugging each coach as he went onto the floor for the tip-off. That kid was amped and ready to play and you could tell he loved the staff and loved just being there. Since Archie got here, our guys look like they couldn't care less as they get ready to play. I'm ready for a return to actual enthusiasm and energy.
  3. Looks like it might have something to do with this... https://awfulannouncing.com/radio/dan-dakich-called-out-for-misogynistic-comments-doxing-following-heated-twitter-discussion-over-student-athlete-compensation.html
  4. I was just reading the comments on the tweet and many were saying he shut it off himself, though that doesn't sound like DD.
  5. Interesting, people are saying he shut it off himself.
  6. He was getting a lot of respect last night from the refs.
  7. Agree on Hurts, and he wasn't really even that good last year...he just wasn't Wentz. He went 1-3 with the win coming at home against the Saints without Drew Brees. His completion percentage was 52% and he threw 6 TD's to 4 INT's. I completely understand he didn't have an offseason and training camp to prepare to be the starter and you can't judge a rookie in 4-5 games. That's why if I was the Eagles I would have kept Wentz and tried to trade Hurts. Hurts has some value because of the unknown and being just a 2nd year player. They probably could have gotten a 2nd or 3rd for him. Then in the draft you stock up on offensive lineup and defense (they took a bunch of WR last year), let the new coach rehabilitate Wentz and go from there. But, I guess that's not happening. As an Eagles fan I'm not too excited about heading into next season with Hurts and Nate Sudfeld as our QB's. I was hoping to not have to take a QB with #6 but it's looking like that would make the most sense.
  8. Could be. Kind of a backdoor way for Wentz to institute his own no-trade clause.
  9. Yeah, and if Wentz doesn't have one then tough break for him.
  10. Yeah, I dont understand what the Eagles are doing. For me, I'd rather thr Eagles keep Wentz. His value is at its lowest and you just hired an offensive coach as your head coach. I'd rather the Eagles work to rehabilitate Wentz and see what the trade market is for Jalen Hurts. To your point, if they do trade Wentz who cares where he wants to go? You get the best deal you can and tough brake if Wentz doesn't like it.
  11. Agree. When programs like MSU, UNC, Louisville, etc., are rolling is when they stack recruits like TJD, Garcia and Kaufmann in consecutive classes. Same at the guard spots. IU's problem the last 10-15+ years is we have those guys one at time, we rarely have 3 or so stud guys at the same time. We have Langford and then TJD. We have Zeller on the inside and then Vonleh, and then a year with none, and then Thomas Bryant. I've been waiting for the IU coach that can produce multiple top 30-40 recruits in a class and then stack 3-4 classes like that in a row.
  12. Hopefully we do. At that point despite all of the angst over yesterday's performance, IU will have won 4 out of 5 heading into the final 3 games. Not bad momentum, you just would have liked to have seen a better effort yesterday even in a loss.
  13. Depends. If the Colts wait too long and Darnold, Watson, etc., are gone, then some leverage swings back to the Eagles, as the Colts needs a QB and the market won't be as full of options.
  14. This isn't a contract dump though. Wentz's deal isn't great, but the Eagles aren't simply looking to dump a bad contract here. You can get a backup like Foles on the open market, there's no need to trade for him. I'd rather have a draft pick throw in. Other than Allan Robinson, who I can't imagine would be part of this and might actually be a free agent, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head the Eagles would be angling for.
  15. That seems like an odd deal for the Eagles. Why would they want Nick Foles and another player? The other player would have to be pretty significant. I'd rather have more picks than Foles and another player (depending on who that player is).
  16. And those guys think because they went to Kentucky that they have to be 1 and done, so most are still leaving anyways.
  17. Celtics fans are pretty happy, to be honest. The team is playing really well, Tatum and Brown are both legit stars at this point. The problem has simply been continuity. They were first in the East then the team got hit with Covid. Right as Kemba was coming back Tatum got Covid, and all the bigs on the team had to quarantine because of contact tracing. Once all of those guys came back, then Marcus Smart went down. When everyone was healthy, Boston has the best record in the East.
  18. I'm interested in what is going to happen with the Packers/Rodgers this offseason. All the media is saying that Rodgers is using that vague language after the NFC Title Game loss to angle for a new contract extension. I'll be curious to watch how he plays that. The guy is 37 or 38, already has more money that anyone could need, all he has left in his career is legacy. He should be offering to restructure his contract so GB can bring in more players, not looking to squeeze the organization for more money. I understand he's mad they drafted Love in the 1st round, and that was probably dumb, but they need to add talent, not lose talent. Part of the reason New England was able to keep fielding winning rosters so long was because Brady took team-friendly deals. No, Rodgers doesn't owe that to the Packers by any means and he's earned every penny he can get, but again it's his call. Does he want more money or does he want a legit chance at another Super Bowl or two? Restructure a more team-friendly deal and tell GB to go get Allen Robinson to pair with Devante Adams. Go get JJ Watt and a couple defensive players, etc.
  19. Patriots would be the trade partner, but you're right it will most likely be a release situation. Belichick is too smart to trade for Garapalo, he knows nobody else is trading for him so NE will wait until he gets released, unless they go elsewhere for a QB.
  20. If they bring in Stafford or even Watson, the 49ers will then trade Garrapalo.
  21. He's injured. He got hurt in the bubble playoffs and had to have surgery. He's supposed to be back sometime in February. If not for the injury he would be getting a lot of playing time this year.
  22. I think they can get a haul if they move fairly quick and can get a couple teams bidding against each other, which shouldn't be a problem.
  23. If I'm the Texans, I'm trading Watson ASAP. Not because they should bow down to a player demand or anything, but because the longer this drags out the more teams will try to drive his value down. If this thing gets into training camp, the Texans have to be prepared to keep him for the entire season. Id just trade him now for a Cowboys/Hershel Walker haul and get myself as prepared for the draft as possible.
