  1. You could say they are playing well. Maybe. But they must have 20 turnovers. Will they be this careless against any team that speeds them up or presses them?
  2. Really, gotta wait for a fifth set in women’s volleyball game?
  3. That was much closer than it should have been. Completely outhustled on the boards, especially the defensive boards. How many second and third scores did St John’s get? And then the FT shooting! They have to fix that.
  4. If they lose this game it will be due to poor FT shooting
  5. How do I set up a BTN+ account? I have it on Roku but can’t get on
  6. Simple. Gotta shoot better from the field and the line.
  7. Yes, they are a different team without him. Also, I don’t want to see the rebounds this half.
  8. Where is the offence this half? Also, how can they be so out hustled? Thought we were done with this.
  9. Time for offense. Change it up. Defense certainly OK.
  10. Does anybody here understand not calling timeouts there?
  11. They are playing to lose. At almost midfield, at least try to move in for a FG
  12. Seeking is right. On that second down when we rushed right and lost four yards, all Penix had to do was keep the ball and he had all day to find a receiver. Play calling sucks. Defense is not that bad but they are being left out to dry.
  13. Cannot win with no offense. Penix looks lost. Take him out.
  14. I'm sorry. i didn't read all of the comments above, just most of the first few pages. Maybe some before me feel as I do as stated below. Yes, we gave up a KO return for a touchdown. Yes, we gave up four TD's, but one was the KO and others had to do with our TO's. The defense was magnificent in the first half. The targeting penalty looked bogus to me. I thought he hit the QB in the shoulder with his arm/shoulder. Whatever! But the offense? How many tries inside the 20 or 10 yard line does a team need to score? Why can't you make a 4th and less than one yard play? Now the real problem, I think, is Michael Penix. He just does not look anything like the guy he was before he got hurt last year? Is it just confidence? Is the offensive line that much weaker than last year? Penix throws now like he's afraid to do something wrong instead of with confidence like last year., so he ends up forcing balls and getting intercepted. Six interceptions against Iowa and Cincy is just too much and a formula for losing. There are virtually no long downfield plays. Maybe that is the offensive game plan's fault. He also doesn't really want to run. He is playing scared. Can't win that way. Just my take.
  15. Need offensive line improvement. Open up the offense and get the ball downfield more. Penix can move around to buy time. He can't throw worse going forward. First INT certainly not his fault, but the others? Main concern is defense. This is supposed to be the team's strength. Need more 3 and outs, no long runs against, more tight coverage on wideouts, etc, etc. Fix things next week and get ready for Cincinnati, Penn State, and forward. Season not lost yet.
  16. I'm sorry, but the only thing that makes any sense to me for the BIG is to convince Notre Dame to come where they truly belong and then add one of either Missouri, Syracuse, Kentucky or Louisville. Keep the schools relatively close.
  17. Who do they play against? Findlay Prep and the like?
  18. Sure i remember. After the 75 and 76 teams, Woody was the best IU player over the following four years. He played from 1976 to 1980 and when he left he was the school's second leading all-time scorer to that point. This was despite hurting himself and having back (disc) surgery in December 1979, right as his senior year started (Isiah's first year at IU). He came back on Feb 14th 1980 and immediately scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds against Iowa. During the rest of the year he averaged 20 points per game and was then named Big 10 Player of the Year. IU made it to the Sweet 16 that year before losing.
  19. Man, this board and the fan base in general is tough. Nothing satisfies many of you. So you wanted Stevens. Too bad! Maybe anyone else would have been not good enough. I actually think Woodson had a reasonably good coaching record in the NBA. He brought the Knicks from the basement to the playoffs and did pretty well with the Hawks also. He is an IU blue blood, which should count for something. He will assemble a solid staff both for on bench and recruiting. He is not a dreaded mid-major coach who may or may not be able to step up. He has Matta supporting him. It just cannot get worse than this prior year. If he can teach his guys to a) play with confidence, b) play hard nosed defense, c) rebound, and d) shoot a high percentage of free throws (look what happened to Alabama, with another favored coach, last night), he will do fine. Add in some recruiting skills between him and the assistants to get a top flight point guard and some dead eye shooters who won't forget how to shoot when they come to IU, and all will work itself out.
  20. Apparently, whoever the new coach is will have free reign to bring in an entirely new team. Seems like nobody is willing to wait and see who comes in as the new coach.
  21. Yeah, but that was a pretty bogus call against USF when they were up by 5, UVA tried to steal the ball and they got called for an offensive foul.
  22. Can he shoot? Can any of our 2020 recruits light it up consistently? Can any of them play point guard? If the answers are "yes", than great. If not, then why not?
