  1. My first game was in January 1990 against the reigning National Champions, U of Michigan. We were in a filled to capacity balcony and the place went wild when we came from about 20 back to win. Coach Knight went with the freshman in the 2nd half and they got the job done....a sign of 4 years of success from that class.

  2. I agree with BGleas. Momentum is huge, not just for competing for a top spot in the conference, and a solid seed and a couple of wins in the tournament, but also for setting the table for next year and beyond. IU football had more momentum than I have ever seen coming into this year, and it is clearly gone. A strong showing in by the basketball program throughout the course of this season, combined with solid recruiting/transfer portal, should set us up for the long haul.  The obvious difference between IU football and basketball is the talent level as it compares to the rest of the Big Ten. IU basketball has, and should continue to have, talent on par with the best teams in the league, while the football team does not.  And as BGleas pointed out, it really appears that our program is being built to attract future NBA players.  It will be nice when we aren't in the "hope springs eternal" mindset anymore, and we reclaim our rightful spot among the elite.

  3. KL is a great shooter!! I challenge any one of you to wedge the ball between the rim and backboard from behind the 3 point line. Go ahead and try....I'll wait.

On a serious note, I think KL has some natural skills that are hard to teach with decent court vision, ball-handling, and quickness. If he ever is going to make the NBA, he needs to stay at IU and learn. If CMW can't get him there, he ain't getting there. If KL leaves because he isn't playing enough this year, which some were speculating on this very board, he will be making a huge mistake. I trust this staff.

  4. I think we can all agree that XJ needs to stay out of foul trouble. I think we can/should all agree that this coaching staff knows what they are doing. Keep in mind that this staff is also learning how to work together. There hasn't been a collection of basketball knowledge gathered on this staff since RMK.

  5. Our schedule was/is brutal, and there are injuries, etc.  I fear that a program like ours needs to have major momentum to build long term competitiveness. We had it coming into the year...a string of successful years(relatively speaking) and being ranked last year and at the start of this year. It will take all Coach Allen has to rebuild that momentum, but I fear this year takes the luster off the program and returns us back to the bottom again. Losing the bowl games really stings extra now.
