Keeping this post brief, but this just makes me want to get back to the FF more.

“Heavy sigh. Anxiety. Anger mixed with inner turmoil!”
As an IU fan, yeah, this blows.
NGL, personally, I’m thrilled my girlfriend gets to cheer at a Final Four game.
I’mma shut up now before I get tarred and feathered.
What an amazing experience for her! I’m happy for my Purdue friends and few family PU alum & fans. Game respects game. Happy for Robbie Hummel; happy for Keady that he can be there to witness it and all that.
Am I going to watch coverage every day? No, lol. But I fully expect them to meet UConn in the title game, and I think UConn has the edge. But frick, maybe I want the title back in my state after all these long years!!

25% FG % for the game so far for the Illini.

Glad you pointed out the positive in the game. I couldn't find it.
I misstated that - it was around 10% for the 2nd half. But still.. wow

In think Illinois’ FG % is around 10%. 😳

I think UConn is the only team left in the tournament that can beat Purdue…and even then it’s going to depend how the refs call it. Tennessee has nothing for them they’ve already shown that this year and Duke Nc St don’t have the size. Hard to decide who to root for. UConn who is replacing us as a blue blood or Purdue who will make this board insufferable. I have to say probably Purdue though…that should be the slap in the face the university needs to wake up and right the ship and stop allowing them to own the state and our players.
This is where I’m at, in addition to genuinely being happy for a few if Purdue does indeed win. I’ve heard those UConn fans live and in person and yikes.

Illinois has not scored in the 2nd half. Wow. And UConn fans are LOUD and when they get going, there’s no stopping them.

Announcers just said UConn’s starters, aside from one guy, are 1-17 from the field and they’re leading by 6. Wow.

I was just reminded that my father didn’t take us to MSA in 1980 because he was drunk as usual 🫠
IU “blew it” vs Syracuse but that doesn’t change how great that team was
If you don’t appreciate them it’s your choice
That’s a bummer - it’s a long time ago, but that sucks you didn’t go to MSA in 1980.
I’ve got several friends with Purdue connections either via diploma or fan, my nephew just graduated from Purdue, and I’ll be happy for them, Matt Painter, and the Purdue fans who join us here. It’s such an exhilarating and exciting experience to win the national championship even from a fan perspective. So if Purdue does indeed win this year, get tickets to the Final Four - do whatever you have to do to go, and just enjoy and soak it in!! No way did I think it would be almost 40 years before IU’s next championship. No way. Enjoy it in the moment!

Living down here in Evansville, we were the host for the Division II Championship, although not sure why as we no longer have a Div. II team since USI moved up to D1. But anyways, the Championship game was on CBS and Montana State won on a 3 pointer at the last second 88-85. Montana State must have an awesome BBall program as I see where their Ladies team also won a national championship as well!
WOW!!
Wow! That’s very exciting! Fort Wayne hosted the Div III event, won by Trine. And definitely sounds like two good programs at Montana State.

UConn matches up well with them. Teams like UNC and Kentucky did as well. Not many do.
I think UConn can beat Purdue.

My daughter’s 21st birthday is on the eclipse day! So we’ll be in Muncie at Ball State w/ her, and my mom who also lives there. Really really really hoping for no clouds 🙏🤞.
All of your plans sound very fun!

What a comeback! I will miss this team. Just so impressed with how they came back and really controlled the game, didn’t quit, just focused. Just an incredible group of women! SC coach was very complimentary of Coach Moren and the team.

I’ve spent a few years coaching against Mt. Vernon in the HHC conference
Oh gotcha. It’s been MANY years since I graced the Marauder halls 😂 I was there during the Jimmy Howell coaching years.

Found the foodies thread! If you live near Fort Wayne, you need to go visit the Union Street Market at Electric Works, the beautifully redone GE building that sat vacant for 80 years. Great NYC style pizza place, Johnny Ox, plus other great locally connected places. Very cool place, couple of breweries in there as well.

I live in NE Indiana now, and there are many who go to Michigan in the summer, or are Michigan transplants. Lot of Purdue fans up here, too. My Kroger had Colts and Purdue gear for the longest time and finally I saw IU stuff this year for the first time. Criminal lol.
